No Taremi for Japan Match is tuff....BUT....and big BUT....Karim is still a lethal Striker and can pass the Ball pretty well. He is no Mehdi on the creativity-side but his passes can be pin perfect as well. Sardar needs to step up as well and please please dont sub out Saman again that soon.
This guy turned into a mix of Kante and Bruno Fernandez....he was basically EVERYWHERE on the Pitch!
Where is that mentality coming from, seriously...
Japan is a good team, they've lost against Iraq and struggle in the group stage games, why are you shifting from over confidence to this looser mentality based on one game? Why being so emotional and draw black/white conclusions based on nothing?

Iran can beat Japan without any doubts, even without one of their main player. They only need to focus much more on finishing because that's really what they are lacking for the moment. Iran had 6 clear cut golden opportunities against Syria, if they would have scored 3, and won 4/1, you would have probably say that we will destroy Japan ? No, Japan game will be tight and difficult for both teams but we definitely have enough ressources to win that game as much as them.

If he blew mistakenly it would have ended the play early.

The purpose of waiting for to flag for offside is exactly the reason that they MIGHT be wrong and VAR can overturn the decision. If VAR overturns the decision, a goal would stand.

Remember in Iran vs UAE in WCQ in Dubai when we won 1-0? Shoja I think got a red card for DOGSO - BUT it was offside (AR missed it) and VAR correctly intervened, so that nullified the red card.

Same logic here. Offside called after attacking phase of play - but wrong decision by the AR, so then then if there was a foul, penalty would be correct decision. If it was actually offside, then VAR cannot intervene since offside came first.

Basically he wants to get back at Khodadad as it shows azizi doesn't really like Khiabani at all.
        This describes our country perfectly

Good explanation. I get why they would do it this way. They want to give attacking play the benefit of the doubt.

Ebrahimi actually played excellent when he came on and great PK. 8/10 performance.

Exactly, ARs make a lot of mistakes these days since the decisions are so close

Gholi only went out because Mohebbi was probably ahead of him in the penalty shootout order.
Was also very skeptical of the Torabi sub and though he'd choke... but his PK was unstoppable

yes he did. still dont completely agree with ghoddos sub (I would have subbed azmoun to solidify midfield) but he was very good. won a lot of balls and confident. good penalty too.

There is no sudden shift to a “loser mentality”. Just like when Skocic was running TM and getting results against minnows in ugly fashion, the average unbiased person knew we’d get beaten handily by any halfway decent team with his clueless play style. Guess what, exactly that happened the moment we played South Korea. Ghalenoie is a weaker version of Skocic, and anyone with eyes can see our play is beyond clueless at this point, it’s horrendous. What from any of our recent performances has given you hope that we’ll do well against Japan? Again, people are praying Japan has a bad day, our Ansarifard who is near his retirement age is going to bail us out and be a match winner. What from Ansarifard’s whole career has made you think he’s capable of this. He’s not a terrible player, but I can’t remember him being a game changer more than 1 or 2 times since his debut. If you are praying for this to be his 3rd game in 14 years where he outplays a clearly superior opponent, while we’re down our best player, again, some people bet on underdogs all the time. It’s not a reasonable bet, we’re clearly in a lot of trouble, don’t deceive yourself.

We have trouble scoring against minnows, and now we’re licking our lips that Japan’s keeper will be exploited. Who on our team can even shoot the ball straight in the last few games. We’ve been absolutely awful, and I’m not going to delude myself into praying for a miracle.

Iran played with 9 men. Mohebbi destroyed every chance and touch he had on the ball.
