Let's first beat Syria today, and then focus on the Japan game. Having said this, on paper Japan is much stronger, and we all know this. They have regularly beaten World Class teams within the last 1-2 years. But: it's football, and everything can happen. The exception proves the rule.

Either way our game will come to mostly our Rezaeian, Kanaani, and the number of injuries we get from Syria match which is sad but true. How well can Rezaeian cover the flanks and how many errors can Kanaani avoid.

Mitoma's comeback is really bad news for us. On the other hand, their gk is nothing but a vulnerability. Most of their goals conceded come from his errors. It's not like he has no talent (United tried to sign him last summer) though. He received racial abuse from Japanese fans after the Iraq game and seems mentally broken right now.
