It was a tough call, but fully legal and justifiable. To be fair, Taremi, Azmoun and Gholizadeh should have also received a yellow card. Reg. the Iraqi national team: I do think that they play attractive and offensive football, and in terms of the tournament's quality it's a shame that they are out.
No. that original celebration Taremi, Azmoun and Gholizadeh did was not a response to anything in the field or fans in the stadium specifically. They also didn't take too long to do it. Mohebbi deserved a yellow probably though as he did it directly towards the Emirati players.
Far fewer follow Asian Cup but AFCON is pretty well reported in print and online media and fans on twitter.
Europeans are bullied by their loud and turbulent African diasporas. Some end up being big players here and there thanks to euro system they were born/developed in. The others end up being fans showing and speaking loud about their passion for their NT. Even if Africa isn't much better than Asian, both reason (African stars and domestic audience) are the reason their mickey mouse cup get hyped by so many extended coverage. More coverage means more neutral spectators.
Asia has much less stars. Asian diasporas are much less than African ones in Europe, and much less passionate for football and/or their NT. Which diaspora will hype Asia football in Europe?
Indian, Pakistani ones in England? Their NT are inexistant even in Asian level. And they care more about cricket than football.
Same with afghans.
Syrians? I guess they have other things to care and their NT is just 11 weak nobodies for Europeans.
Japanese and Koreans expats are just above football as a whole.
Iranians? Cough cough
Iraq fans have doxxed Faghani online and revealed his address in Australia.
The guy needs protection.
This is insane.
Afc need to come out and stand by their referee! im tired of this bs, if he gave a valid yellow then you clarify and stop the abuse thats being herded towards faghani
The Jordanian/Palestinian replies to the Iraqis really warms your heart, posting the video of Aymen Hussein gesturing to fans. Not a single Iraqi comment under those I wonder...
In that case wouldn't Taremi and Azmoun get yellow cards for provoking UAE fans with the fake crying?
I'm pretty sure the 2nd yellow wasn't because of the celebration BUT BECAUSE of how long he celebrated outside the pitch (with Faghani continuously whistling to restart play), as well as the fact that he celebrated twice! He celebrated outside the pitch and came back and sat down and celebrated again 🤣

Taremi and Azmoun did it to the cameras, Mohebbi did it to the fans(which deserved yellow).
Yes, you are right that it is also a yellow offense to be told to go back to restart play and refuse and go sit back down to celebrate.
Aymen Hussein didn't think it was an Asian cup knockout match, he thought ke khoooneye amashe
Iraq went 3-0 in the group stage to secure the top spot in Group D while Jordan managed to get through despite just one win in three matches. Watch AFC Asian...
