It's funny because in 2019, they analyzed that Ramin loved to leave his position and kept abusing it. Lots of impact from the right side. Kinda strange that we are facing the same issue in 2024. Some things never change do they?

honestly it looked 50/50. He actually stood on opponents foot while running at speed so he could have plausibly lost his balance! And he sprang back up as soon as he fell, it doesn’t look consistent with trying to dive, but I’d say AFC would say it’s ultimately a judgment call by the referee and should be respected. Also it looks like he told referee to f*ck off after he was cautioned, which could have resulted in red there and then - but maybe my lip reading is not the best!

He created the contact, which is his trademark. Even people like Ramin have talked about it in interviews. He said Mehdi drew two penalties (in a practice game) on him by making contact first to deceive the referee and they didn't talk for like two days 😂

Soon as taremi got a red card i went to a cafe had a nice espresso and checked the score when the pk was 3 - 1 iran
