Iran has to play a defensive game as it would be a suicide to play like QN likes to play. We need to sit back and slow them down.

And we all know if we could take the game into penalties, with Beiro and Suzuki and TM shooters who did amazing against Syria, we would be in a better shape and will have the upper hand.

We just need to play an Arab style football and frustrate the Japanese players and do counter attacking football. We all know this is the game for us. If we beat Japan we will have an amazing chance of lifting the trophy.

          Beiro

          Ramin Kanani Shoja Milad

          Ezatolahi Hajsafi

          ARJ/Gholi Ghoddos Torabi

          Azmoun

is our best chance IMO. Torabi is critical on the left, his defensive awareness and hustle is huge, plus he is instant offense by himself (bit like Ghol in that regard) and would ensure 3 different creative pipelines to sardar. Hajsafi partnered Saeid in midfield just last year at WC. They are a solid pair there which would give Saman the license to push up into more advanced roles. Milad has better physical attributes than hajsafi for dealing with japanese 1v1 and in transition, he just needs to be fully alert and focussed.

Please lets not waste critical mins with Mohebbi, Moghanlou, etc.

We could copy Iraqs (v Japan) playbook...if the boys have any legs left.

Need to prey Zion is playing!

Fron what I’ve watched online, it seems like this japan goalie really is their Home option at the moment. They’re not doing this grand mindgame where they’re hiding the real hoslie

Who would you go for if Azmoun is sick or having another god awful day?

                Ghaedi/Karim/Moghanlu/Mohebi?

I watched the baseball world championships over the summer japan won it all.they don't play mined games. Their baseball team is perfect example of their soccer team..they don't panic when they get scored on and just play their game hard organize as always....
they are amazing sport nation, but not unbeatable.

Moghanlou. We need to abuse height and headers against this Japanese team, GN better be practicing them with everyone. We need everyone constantly abusing wings to cross to the box the full match for 90 minutes. That's why I support Torabi and Gholizadeh on wings and Ghoddos CAM with sardar up front. I agree with Haj Safi and Eza midfield pair since he has very nice crosses.

if you have followed and watched Japan's games carefully, you would notice that they build from the back‌, they take advantage of space in the middle and often explore the flanks with their quick one touch passes. Most of their goals are initiated from the wings. If you disturb their build up process early on they get confused and make mistakes. Iraq and to some extent Vietnum did exactly that. They brought the back line of 4 closer to half, crowded the midfield and pressed really hard up front to close spaces and prevent the build up. That organized japanease team all of a sudden transformed into an error prone team with panics in their ranks specially in their defense line and goalkeeping which happen to be their weakest links.

If you sit back deep they will do what they did to Bahrain today and they are very good at it. Iran would need to watch and analyze the success of Iraq against Japan and translate that into a strategy and tactics that our team can implement. The advantage we have is Japan only follows one tactic and once that is disturbed it will have no idea how to switch to something different in the middle of the game.....Again, games with Iraq and Vietnum did not happen the way they did for no good reasons. If you study them they attest to what I just explained.

.. And if someone (Oracle) can send this to GN in a language he understands, we might have a chance. Otherwise with our back line we are screwed just like last time.
                            Mark these words!

We need to fight from the beginning to end with strong focus and mentality. Any soosool bazi will cost us big time!
