After Egyptian ref cut tm head against ksa in 96 ac,
famous line was ARABESTAN B DAVAR YEK CHAH NAFT DAD.

I don't understand afc with their choice of ref.
    Persian ref for iraq match.
    Chinese ref for japan match.

    Thank you afc

AFC is mocking the teams showing them that they are in charge

They do it all the time. We always need to worry about the referees and this is not only for Iran. Mostly non Arab teams get this.

is our best chance IMO. Torabi is critical on the left, his defensive awareness and hustle is huge, plus he is instant offense by himself (bit like Ghol in that regard) and would ensure 3 different creative pipelines to sardar. Hajsafi partnered Saeid in midfield just last year at WC. They are a solid pair there which would give Saman the license to push up into more advanced roles. Milad has better physical attributes than hajsafi for dealing with japanese 1v1 and in transition, he just needs to be fully alert and focussed.

Please lets not waste critical mins with Mohebbi, Moghanlou, etc.

air offense is way to go.
I have decided who THE BUTCHER SHOULD BE
Reza asadi make a perfect BUTCHER. he can also shoot from outside and is good on air.

Thinking about how important Taremi was for our midfield and defence, not only attack :/

General needs to spend all day tomorrow practicing crosses, headers, and defensive transition

I am giving myself false hope:

Guys, Japan is beatable. Iraq just beat them. We are the clear under dogs, but it's not like we're going against Brazil.

If we play well, and get a little lucky, we can beat them. Let's not psych ourselves out and make them bigger than they are.

Sure, we are missing Mehdi, and that will hurt, but he's had a sub-par tournament so far (truthfully). We can replace him with Gholi/Torabi and not miss much of a beat offensively.

Being Iranians we always jinx our teams and are a little cocky about the results. I think the trouble we faced against Syria only made us stronger. I am sure Iran will play with more care and that usually works out because we usually get sloppy when we are too confident.

                    True.

Its much more likely we lose to Qatar/Uzbekistan being cocky than Japan

I think our team showed A LOT of character on our penalties last game. Losing Taremi, giving up a penalty…team melli of the past would’ve choked.

Interestingly, only two of our penalty takers in that game have current European club experience.

We need to show resilience, character and not freak out if we’re down 1-0. I actually give us a 50-50 shot of winning.

If iran defeat japan, the positive energy across social media, this forum, the camp, and all around the globe will be so extremly strong that there would be no other possible outcome than us winning by whole thing

i originally said before the tournament started that in order to keep in line with our Iranianness, we would defeat South Korea and lose against Qatar in semi, however if we beat this japan squad, we will beat anyone!

                              true that...
if Sardar is sharp and not nearly as wasteful with scoring chances as last game then we still stand a good chance of upsetting the japs..!!
Need a compact and organized defensive shape , more importantly must vastly improve the Speed of our Transition Game and catch the Japs on Swift counters to have legit chance of victory..! Japs like SK attack with big numbers and leave often leaving themselves exposed to quick counter goals..!! Bey will surely be tested many times .... lets hope he rises to occasion and have a big game..!!

It could just as easily make us think we will win and then lose to Qatar.

Humility until the trophy is in our hands
