The constant chat about AFC unfairness and referees concerns me, particularly GN’s comments.

He clearly has to tread a fine line psychologically. On the one hand it’s the oldest trick in the book - suggest the referee will not be fair beforehand to try and sway any potential bias back our way. What I fear though is subconsciously it provides an excuse for the players for not getting the job done. I hope there’s a very different message being delivered internally in the camp with the intensity combined with disciplinary focus from the Japan game the blueprint.

yes, but refs have ego and emotions too, and sometimes that makes a difference between a calm ref just cautioning a player versus a pissed off ref handing out a yellow card.

GN is clearly concerned and worried about $candalous officiating Fk us outa of the Final appearance, hence clearly it was a concerted effort from him and saeed in the pre-game interview to complain about the arab choice of the ref and put both the Ref and AFC under notice and everyone else so as to behave themself fairly..!!
i think it was the right thing to do .... however both him and saeed Over-did it in pregame conference and risked pissing off the ref enough to at least not give us the benefit of doubt on many would be 50/50 decisions..!!?
we can ill afford to leave the result of this game to officiating/VAR decision ... we must dominate with a spirited but careful performance and get a couple of goals lead and to do so, we must be extremely clinical in the attacking 3rd to ..!!
