for all the wealth of talent and top level footballing experience nealy at every position, i thought Japan severely underperformed in the this tourney and even more alarming was their team spirit and confidence or should i say lack there of..!!
i can't say im an avid follower of their football to know the nuances hence judge the quality of their coach more fairly, yet im still somewhat dumbfonded how he was'nt shittcanned immediately after our game..??

One place Japan is severely in need is GK. They haven't had a solid GK (like a Beiro) for the past 4-5 years. They are using a guy who has very little international experience, and his backups are even less experienced. One thing I learned since the Mirzapour days: doesn't matter how good your 10 are, if you're GK is shaky, all bets are off.

I hadn't seen this before: Taremi's reaction before and after ARJ's PK. Love it!

indeed ...! oddly i thought their keeper performed quiet admirably against us... he was certainly amongst their top 2-3 players.. and had near zero chance on saving the goals he conceded ..!!

He may have had a good game against us, but he got scored on in every match Japan had this tournament. He is the definition of "zourakh".

Success in your Europe doesn’t necessarily translate to success at international level - you need a good system and good team chemistry. As good a career as Japan’s back line had they didn’t gel well together . Kubo as good as he’s been this season club wise didn’t look that great in the match
You could turn this argument around if you look at all the Iranian players playing in Europe.

only other game of japan i watched was the Iraq match and yea he looked pretty shaky and sorrakhish vs iraq ... but still im more apt to blame their rather unorganized backline more for their demise than the keeper alone..!
they often push way too many man forward on attack and they seemed very vulnerable to physical play and quick counters ..!

ps he looks Sisaish ... what is the guy's heritage..?

The tradition of the players we shit on continuing to have man of the match performances continues. Ghaedi, ARJ, and Mohebi, and Haj Safi hit back vs Japan/Syria.

I'm convinced Mohebi only does bad for TM when he plays next to Mehdi as they don't have any chemistry. Maybe we should test out single striker system more often with the additional person in midfield for more stability.

2nd half Vs Wales being one example
yeah but wales team not comparable to japan in terms of talent or the level they have shown leading up to our games (minus Japan being a bit half ass in the group stage)

The Japanese are really inspirational on the pitch
Indeed. They are pure class. We can learn from them in many ways, culturally and athletically.

What makes the win so important is really the opponent. Speaking for myself, I have always been so impressed by the Japanese, not just in football (although in recent years esp. in football). Culturally, in terms of discipline, innovativeness, etc. How they managed to rebuild their country after getting 2 fkin nuclear bombs dropped on them. As far as football goes I still have no doubt they are the best team in asia. I know many other iranians who feel this way too.

For us to beat a full strength japan in the manner we did, missing our best player (and multiple other starter-level guys) is just immense on psychological level.
