1- Too many chances wasted up front, aside from some unlucky bounces.
We shd have converted at least a couple of them.
2- Taremi was so low key and lackadaisical with his touches, it looked as if we're 6-0 up by min 20!!!
poor poor game by him. His lack of commitment is to be fully questioned.
3- Knowing that afif was qatar's main player, we never man marked or even zonal covered him. I dont understand why
4- The ref was actually closer to fair than biased. So we cant really blame him.
5- Substitutions. Again GN got it wrong.
Knowing that long balls and direct plays (crosses into 18) wasnt working as well as we expected (tall physical defenders. Different from japan's), we should have tried some on the ground play using the likes of Gholizadeh who could weave thru the defense.
Instead of either mohebi or maghanlou
6- Our slow two man midfield was over-run by pacy five man opponent midfield.
GN should have corrected this way before end of 1st half.
7- We could have won the game if we didnt panic (team as well as staff).
even though we were extremely unlucky

silver-lining of this sad loss is at least the freaking regime wont be able to exploit and make use of this for itself or its disgusting (s)election.
We beat ourselves today. After the 1 goal Iran got pretty arrogant, especially Ghoddos who played like he was in a training match. Are our players afraid of putting some power behind their shots or what the fk is wrong with them? Just look at how Qatar went all in to score against us. We were too arrogant in front of their goal and Qatar punished us. This time we can't blame AFC, the Arab ref or the anti-football tacticts of Qatar. Only we are to blame here! Ebrahimi that little old sh!tbag needs to retire. I was so happy when GN took him out. I have to be fair and say: Congratz Qatar, you were way smarter than TM.
This. They can only blame themselves. Go back and watch how Qatar was PRESSING every time they did not have the ball, they were hungry, they wanted this more than our team, that was for sure!
It is very sample:
In any sport, if you want to go far your best players need to deliver!
Taremi didn't! Beiro was shaky! So was te D!

Am i the only one who thought beiro had a decent game? he couldnt of saved any of the goals imo. yes we need a better keeper than him but today he wasnt at fault imo.
I am solely to blame for this loss, I apologize to the people of Iran. This is the worst night of my life. We failed to capitalize on chances. Moving forward, we must move on and integrate younger players into the national team to prepare for the 2026 World Cup."
Best as I could translate it
@ least its good to see he is admitting his own faults rather than as typical with iroonie coaches try to blame anything and everyone but one self..!
his tactical 1dimentionality and weak game mngmt skills and frailty in making proper game time adjustments to change the flow of the game; ultimately costed our golden generation their last/best chance of finally collecting a meaningful Title/Trophy..!!
When i kept saying Taremi form dropped people said you have an agenda and look at Dzeko and all these world class strikers! Who are olders
He is 31, soon 32! His good days are behind him! Move on…
We need to prepare replacements.
If Taremi wants to stay keep him but i wont start him anymore! Invest on young players! Sadly Sardar is also not a 90 min player and you should always be worried about his form, injury!
Bring this kid Kaveh and lets invest on some young players!
