I have said it many times and will say it again! Iran will never win an Asian Cup anymore. AFC (Arabs Football Confederation) won’t allow it. Even if we beat Japan which we did this time, Arabs all unite to bring us down. We are an emotional nation. They know how to go on our nerves. They start it before the match by choosing Arab referee, by decreasing our share of tickets by Persian Gulf vs Arab Gulf and many other shit. Iran like Israel has to exit AFC. Both Iran and Korea; are at higher level and should not waste their time playing in Arabs Cup. They would never win it anymore. The corruption and ugly play ruins our beautiful soccer. That’s why when giants (Japan, Korea, Saudi and Australia) play us we do our best but we fail against these Arab nations. If you want to hate me go on and do so but truth hurts. We have to get out of AFC. Either register a completely separate confederation like Centra Asian Confederation or join Europe. I am hearing the same thing from Uzbeks. Can I just say, Jahanbakhsh for the last many years I have struggled to understand why he is so poor for Team Melli when he is an established European player.

I disagree. How did anyone know that this won’t be Taremi’s best day? When he got injured everyone thought we would lose to Japan 100%. After we ecaped the loss and won our main battle, everyone was happy to have him back. And he was subbed anyways towards the end of the match. Who knew bro? Like Ghodoos in general had a fabulous Cup but not him or Ebrahimi or even our great Rezaian were themselves We lost the game before the start. When Ezatulahi got into Persian Gulf vs Arab gulf discussion, when we fell again for Arab Football Confederation crappie plan to ruin our minds by appointing an Arab Ref, when we started focusing on outside and stands rather than being ourselves and play our beautiful soccer. We lost then. We lost to Islam, Islamic Republic and corruption of Arab countries. We lost then. Taremi is a human and can be good one day and bad next day. Taremi fucked us against Portugal in 2018 with the last second goal he missed and he fucked up today with his pathetic complaining and not being present in the game. Beiranvand I better keep my mouth shut with the shit goals he took except the 2nd one. Fucking pathetic

Honestly, and I hate to say this, but it looked to me like Beiro at the very least and maybe a couple of other guys purposely threw the game.

Other than that, Azmoun made almost no contribution to the match in the last half hour. He was just walking around, not challenging for the ball at all. Should have been subbed out at minute 65 at most.

I understand this was a long tournament, the longest one we've ever had in fact considering we didn't have an extra time match in 2019. And Japan was a tough game with no subs in 90 minutes.

So the boys were tired, physically and perhaps mentally - I do get that, And I understand GN didn't sub players in the last game. But he should have been smarter in this match.

Unlike the Japan match, we weren't challenging any of the balls in the past 30 minutes, Either way, very heartbreaking loss.

We undoubtedly have structural issues with football, but that’s not why we lost today.
We lost because of the nature of this sport. We hit the post, had shots saved off the line, our players found themselves in multiple dangerous transition moments and wasted them. Meanwhile Qatar had two goals from deflections, both against the run of play effectively killing our momentum at the perfect time for them. Guys, today we just lost to football, don’t overthink it. Get some rest, let the emotions wear off. See you at the next tourney, hopefully with a bit of a facelift for our team.

Great post. I'd also add that all the grass-rolling really stopped us from getting into any type of rhythm. But at the end we just didn't fight for all the ball and hardly won any duels - the opposite of the Japan game.

where’s the corruption? I think the officiating in this tournament has been fine. Dare I say it our penalty was pretty soft and I’d been angry if it was the other way round. Referee was fair and added a fair amount of extra time I also think we got away with a few officiating decisions against Hong Kong which Berio should have received a red card for and maybe Hong Kong should have had a penalty

end of the day Korea and Iran whilst their squads on paper were superior to the Arab opponents both look tired and jaded and their star players son heung min and taremi respectively didn’t perform despite their good club performances

it takes more than Europe based players to win a match . One good Kim min Jae doesn’t make a good back four and as Japan showed you need cohesion in defence something which both they and us lacked this whole tournament :
