My men of the tournament are personally Ghoddos and Ezatolahi...two consistent performers in a sea of bipolar and inconsistent players. Props to Ezatolahi for being fit to play all games this tournament to full time and becoming speedier and pacier. His crisp paces made our shambolic midfield somewhat operatable.

Ramin wasn’t bad. He did exactly what was asked of him. To cross a billion times. Delivery wasn’t great, but he created 99.9% of our chances.

I think what everyone hates about Ramin is that his defense work rate is really bad. I noticed this especially the few times he let Akram Afif walk past him and he was very slow to catch up. He's also a bit gij when it comes to positioning as we've seen, since he's either too forward sometimes or too back keeping random players onside.

I personally believe if we had Moharrami as RB we would win this game just due to his pace and defensive work rate in containing enemy right sides.

Our players have SOME SERIOUS mental issues which surfaces in important games such as this.

I also agree GN starting lineup was not optimal. Playing Omid was wrong as well as Haj Safi.

And in the second half we needed technical players to penetrate Qatar’s defense such as Ghayedi or Torabi instead he brought in tall players which had very little effect.

            48 years and counting......
And to think that this was Iran's truly golden opportunity to shine and bring the Cup home, as all the usual stalwarts like South Korea, Japan, Australia, and Saudi Arabia had bowed out of the competition already. Yes, in this environment, Qatar and Jordan would have been quite beatable. Now Iran has to wait another 4 years to compete against these giants who will surely be well-prepared by 2030. And there's no doubt that teams like Syria, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Iraq will be much better by then as well.

Ramin kicked ass in the WC but was too much too ask of him to step in for Moharrami for all remaining games.

Ultimately, the squad selection did us in. Moharrami and Hosseini injuries were bad luck but we did not take enough defensive alternatives and depended on olds guys like Ramin and Omid game after game.

Why take Yousefi and Fallah and not give them any minutes?

Why take Asadi and Mighanlou and gives them shit minutes?

Why take an injured Torabi and not play him?

Our squad didn't have the depth to deal with the loss of key players like Hosseini and Moharrami and we tired out our old stalwarts.

This is the difference between a manager with a bunch of tournaments under his belt and a club manager.

We outnumbered them 2-1 in defense and they still had so much space to shoot in that shape and press. LOL!!

That lady’s response to Khiyabani’s words is a prime example of why our country has gone to shit. Wow

prob not her doing, probably someone behind the scenes forcing her to cut him off. the people in charge are the problem not these presenters.

He asks why is it that Iran doesn't have any good sports facility, unlike tiny Qatar, that can hosts major sporting events?

He then answers that the reason is that Iran's sporting body is one that doesn't think of doing something for the people so that people can live with their pride.

Please listen to what he says rather than the emotion he expresses. This guy is spewing complete drivel....that is as politely as I could put it.

You have more intelligence and sharaf than this guy and a thousand like him. Seriously...

you guys think that by "paying", with other words building 20 worldclass stadiums and makeing plans will automaticly make our sport improve? Japan, Korea, Australia to name a few have done this for decades. Still they dont get that much better results than us.. Does it not in the end come down to mentality of the people, traditions etc? Investing and planing can only get u to a certain place but in the end what mathers is the mind set... We cant change our mind set by just simply pouring money in to sport...

that was 100% Ezatollahis fault, what are you doing sticking your foot out like that, he doesn't know there are 2 defenders behind him, and the keeper can easily catch that, should have let it go,

I genuinely believe we are far far more talented potential wise than Korea Japan Aussie. Give us half their facilities and we are consistently a top 15 team. Iranians LOVE FOOTBALL. It’s all the kids play and dream about. Football is not necessarily the top love of Korea Japan or Aussie. More like dota2, baseball, rugby respectively. It’s like India and Pakistan with cricket man it’s all they play.

then you will say what about Arab teams who love soccer well they don’t have the population or coaching talent we have. Maybe Saudis in 20-30 years become very good but we will see
