I voted to sack him because I don't believe he can build an entirely new Team Melli that will shine in the 2030 World Cup.

Lol, we were watching a different game then. Literally don't know how fans are pulling their hair out when the other teams never score LOL! I didn't care about this tournament since I saw this coming 100 miles away before the start, but again, enjoy the open play and leaking goals. Its like saying I don't like watching floyd mayweather because he's the ultimate defender (but he sometimes gets a punch or two against him, scary!!!!!!!), but you guys like glass Joe going out and swinging for the fences and getting KO'd in horrific fashion by the 60th ranked fighter from Guatemala. Again, enjoy it guys, the chains are off, and 3 of the links were lodged somewhere uncomfortable a couple of hours ago!

Biggest BS ever comparing the best ever result wise to the worst ever result wise. CQ achieved shit-o with ali express park the bus tactics. If he would've even won a fricking LG cup or something there would be some legimacy to your claims.

You are cheering for JOE can't box runs away and eventually loses 120-108 on every score card by the 70th ranked fighter from Zimbabwe.

I hope some sucker signs CQ so you can enjoy him play park the ball and win nothing.

TBH. I dont have much against his coaching capabilities. As the matter of fact, his records, at least domestically, shows that he's got decent level of coaching. What I really dislike with him is his personality of the pitch.

Så the issue with him is his behavior off the football field. He does not have the professionalism required to be a head coach at national team level. To be able to talk about the right things in the right place to the right audience, not to constantly look for scapegoats, to know where and when and at whom to direct criticism. A recent example of this is his last two press conferences in front of international media about a competitive match against another national team when he starts whining about things that happened 17 years ago where the core problem in his eyes was in inside Iran, if it happened to be Iranian media or then interim federation. This lacked so much relevance yet he brings it up.

So bottomline if he can improve that area, I think if we are planning to have a domestic coach, then he would be the best option considering his records and experience.

I recommend you guys to listen to this podcast from Football 360, from minute 25.

Ask Ghalenoei what 23 players he will call up against Turkmenistan next month. If more than 5 are over 30 immediately fire.

If not, he can keep his job

Lol, did we lose a bunch and get scored on frequently under CQ or was I in a coma for all of his tenure? Your example makes zero sense, did we lose clearly winnable games to Arab minnows frequently under CQ? Seriously, some of you are deluded beyond reason. Give me 3 games that mattered that were not against superior talented opponents that we lost under CQ? Iraq? Seriously in 8+ years, some of you are grasping at straws (but we almost lost to Vietnam and Oman despite winning 2-0!!! That counts, right? right?) Enjoy Arabs eliminating us for the next few years. If this team has supporters like some of you, I'm done with them. We'll never get anywhere with you propping up these losers in charge. Enjoy mediocrity and us getting our butts getting spanked by the Arab block with the vatani coaches.

Were you alive for when we were losing games to Bahrain the same as today? Do you just choose to not pay attention to history, or do you just enjoy repeating it for fun? Again, this is not comparing a single game, we sucked this whole tournament with your beautiful chains off Brazilian football. We struggled (okay sucked) in every game except second half with Japan, and Palestine and even they scored one to humiliate us further. Be proud bro, Ghalenoei for life.

Honestly his coaching capabilities are the main problem with him. He is just like the average joe from the street that throw a line up (i reckon he did decent overall), watch the game with friends on tv, have a beer (explains the belly) and get emotional with some unidimensional subs. Not subbing hosseinnejad after ghoddos injury against UZB or subbing tall mediocre
Forwards with bezan ziresh against Qatar shows his level 0 of coaching.

He choose to bring the overraged CQ squad. The stars brings us to SF but his bet to win fails. On top of that, we had absolutely no young to gain experience for the tournament.

Our defense is catastrophic since GN is coach and while having Manicone.

GN shows no tactical or 3D chess brilliance in our games. Hk was even toying with us!

Well, not CQ, not Ghalenoi, not Skocic and not Wilmots or Branko were the needed coaches.

Sadly thats the truth, sometimes coaches just dont fit, and if we arw honest none of these coaches is anything special.
We have big expectations but when our coaches get fire they are unemployed or join a shitty team.

If we want to progress we should also progress in the coaches we choose, which is very hard.

                      Get him out of here.

This guy is a thug and distracted us from playing the game when it mattered most. In fact I think this game revealed how emblematic of the worst of our culture he his.

When we should've been focusing on the game, this idiot talked about the referee at the press conference and distracted the players from what's in our control. So unprofessional.

Please hire someone with an actual world class pedigree who has stepped out of Iran to coach, like Morais before our football falls deeper in the gutter.

Even Skocic would've easily handled Qatar today.

True, I actually think Skocic would've won this AC for us. GN is an abysmal manager. Skocic wouldn't be a long term coach, but against the level of competition we played against this time around, he would've done better. I was no fan of Skocic, so that's saying a lot, but he at least had some semblance of organization. We were in the same position as South Korea with clueless managers who couldn't organize a team to save their lives. It's a sad, sad day when PFDC has a contingent rooting for GN to stay. I got the support for Skocic, because you really had to pay attention to the fine details of the game to know he was skating by with weak planning/tactics, but how can anyone not see that Ghalenoei is completely out of his depth and had 0 plan other than hoofing the ball up the field every game. Make the most bisavad person in Iran the manager, and they would be able to figure out the same tactic.

Supporters of GN staying, can you explain to me what GN's tactic was that you liked? I want to see if there's anything you actually believe he brings to the gameplan/organization that makes him a better choice than Nekounam, Enayati, Skocic, etc. I really don't see him having done anything special in terms of a team identity, and it's sad that all Koreans could see the fraud their manager was, but we have a lot of folks on here thinking GN should be leading our future? I get it, us Iranians are so beat down, we'll take any old trash because why strive for anything better, right? But this is really just sad, have some self-respect and ask for someone with a plan and tactics to take the lead. Do you really think GN has the talent to develop a new crop of players at a national team level? What gives you this impression? Really, someone answer these for me, I have no clue what the answers could be.

Lol, that reason I'll accept. I don't discount that he tried his best, but we just played such ugly, mistake-prone football. We had a golden generation of talent, but we have not had a golden generation of a manager yet. That is why we're failing. Everyone may think I'm CQ's number 1 fan, but I am using him to compare against GN. Skocic i hated, but I will be his Home fan in comparison to GN as well. There has to be a manager out there that will organize us in a way that allows us to attack confidently without being such a liability in defense. Other teams have had such managers come in and achieved success, we've never had a manager come in who understands how to play to our strengths. CQ was too defensive which cost us against better teams, but there needs to be a quality manager who can know this and improve on our tactics. Why are we okay with settling for GN when it's so clear he can't do this?

Hands down the worst manger, his up and down results, shows he is not stable minded enough , the weakest link is his stubbornness in sticking with the same old tactics and old players….

going into WC26 with AG , means a disastrous performance……I can’t right now tell you there are some good players we have that do not deserve to be on the team or even go to WC 2026 ,

I really don’t even see a point in Taremi being in this team …..
