Where is the 100% proof of this though? Every pic I've seen is showing when the ball is struck.... Not when it leaves his foot. Until then I can't claim for certain that this is offside.

If the lines on the grass (Dark and lighter grass) are straight then he is onside, if they are not straight then he was offside..

Here is the answer. The lines in the grass between lighter and the darker ARE INDEED STRAIGHT. After all, How can they not be.

So any straight line we draw has to be parallel to them at all times, even though to our eyes it will look completely wrong and not straight.

So this confusion all comes to this being an optical illusion, where looking at the picture, from our point of view, some of the lines in the grass does not look parallel to the 18 yard line and that Almoez seems Offside. And the reason for this is that the camera does not always see things the exact way things actually are.

So to avoid any optical illusions, we have to only look at the line of the grass nearest to the action, and by doing so, you can clearly see that Ramin is about half a step behind Almoez. Which means Unfortunately for us:

Almoez was ONSIDE.

We lost to Qatar because we were defensively bad and on offense we were toothless. The third goal was close but we should have never gotten there. For us vs. Qatar game we only have ourselves to blame and should be ashamed of our performance (complaining about a ref before the game and then sleep walking through a terrible game). However, if anyone says that Qatar won this tournament fair and square and that they got no help beating a much better team from Jordan, then I not only question their impartiality, I question their sanity and their evolutionary origin.

Are you kidding ?? This is no longer the ancient times. This stadium was built and maintained as a WC stadium.....Yes those grass lines are very precise, the same way all the white lines are precise. That is the reason we have them to begin with, otherwise the grass will all be one shade.

Yes I saw the first pic and it looks like it's taken just as he's striking the ball... The ball hasn't left his foot yet.

Your response sounded like you've never. mowed a lawn in your life!

As someone who has professionally mowed lawns using tractors, reel and rotary blades etc, take my word. Whether by robot vs human operator, the stripe effect you see on the grass is not nearly as precise as the line markings. It represents the lie of the grass and can be changed by just dragging your hand over it. The pattern is also changed every time the grass is mowed otherwise the blades grows crooked instead of straight up.
