Perhaps if we used our petro dollars to build a soccer infrastructure with world class stadiums and used our money for this we could probably beat them in our field but till then where ever we go we will not be allowed to take the cup. This is why we have not won it in 48 years. As simple as that. We won three times and twice it was in Iran as we had a good infrastructure and selected referees.

Our government is spending top dollars in Palestine instead. So if you want to complain point it at them as all problems are in the government.

While I agree that our wealth is mismanaged, what Qatar and Saudi are doing is very foolish. Those stadiums sit for months empty or new empty and the people's money will be wasted.

When the world turns away from oil in the near future, what will they have to show for it? Asian cup champions (in the most fake way)! What will Saudi Arabia have when the likes of Ronaldo leave? Look at the New York Cosmos...did that spark a soccer revolution in USA? Nope...but at least much of it was private money wasted.

The people in the Persian Gulf region have the highest rates of obesity and diabetes and the culture, weather, and religion all prevent people from physical fitness (esp for women).

Qatar wastes their money on the WC and we waste our money on Iraq, Syria and Palestine....a more sinister cause, but a waste of money likewise.

I get some of our players are absolutely bone headed but anyone who has played GK even in high school knows three things instinctively:

1) Do not follow through excessively when you slide into a 50/50 with a striker...he did it vs Syria almost blatantly and almost cost us the game.

2) Do not touch the ball outside the box with your hands. He did it vs Hong Kong.

3) Most importantly-->
When a player shoots a ball at you SAVE IT EVEN IF YOU THINK THEY ARE OFFSIDE. He did this for more than one goal and worse of all for Qatars winning goal.

He is a giant and couldnt do what any other goalie would do and just punch it anyway

Have to believe he was bought or he has the IQ of a lamp. Not sure which is worse.

I still can't believe people are ripping on Beiro for his performance. There is literally no way you can blame a keep for not saving a deflection, then not saving versus a wonder goal, and then not saving what was the equivalent of a PK (for that 3rd goal).
You can blame Beiro for poor distribution at times, but not those goals. Not to mention he had some great saves versus Qatar. (Lest your memory fail you)

Are you new to how Iranian player operate man , most Iranian players are MONEY hunger , they willing to throw games and sell out their country , if a ARB sheik offers them a cool 1 million or probably more …. Do not have any doubt about that ….
