It's been like that since the 80s. They spend more on one player than our entire clubs do!

No just Saudis, even if we play Yemen it will be the same. Arabs unite against Persians every chance they get.

Why spend the money when Palestine or Syria need us??

Thank god I switched off as soon as I saw the red card. Went over and watched our Beach team come from 3-0 down to beat Spain in a PK. It was a great entertaining match.

Are we watching different Beiranvands? There was a time he was by far the best keeper available, but that was four years ago

He has a huge sooti or two every game, much more frequent than Niazmand.

Same reason USA gives significantly more money to Israel.

but yea this is not the general forum, so let's not get sidetracked.

Give it some time. There are already some cracks starting to appear in the Saudi football project.

This isn't going to be long term thing.

They've spent plenty of money on this pitch!
Unfortunately there is a pitch mafia in Iran. They also have been paid several times to replace the pitch at Anzali and Rasht as well, with similar shitty results.

Meanwhile the pitch in Abadan was installed 18 years ago, has no "Khazaneh", but the company who runs it can't break in, because they're not connected.

Although USA has elementary school football pitches better than many of Iran's pro team pitches, for a sport which is just breaking into the top 10 for the nations psyche

Niazmand is a neutral GK, quite short for a gk, nothing extraordinary. The guy didn't even survive in a tokhmi Portuguese league.

Beiro unfortunately fk off too much with his sooti lately but can have that save (pk or not). Honestly, maybe Niazmand would have had lot of sooti if he played more with TM with all the pressure and over analyze

Yes, he still is a big game player for me. These other guys would make just as many sootis under pressure.

                            Niazmand short?
I'm not a fan, but I definitely wouldn't call him short.

Why havadar play a washed up Haghighi instead of Shakouri?

Nah i feel much more nervous with him in goal - it's not just the mistakes its the way he positions himself so poorly all the time, making the defenders nervous.

I also think it leads to all his rash judgement calls which have made him smash his nose against his defenders so many times

He also argues with his defenders and midfielders too much - i already had noticed it before his scuffle with Ezatollahi in 2018. As a defender surely it's not great having this loose cannon behind you.

I don't doubt his penalty saving and his bravery though, but some other key traits he is well behind Niazmand
