It's only a loan until the end of this season.

He scored a goal today (Dawid Rezaeian also played on the opposite team that lost today for 68 minutes)

was it in a friendly? He wasn't even in the team's match day roster their last league match.

He scored for the U23 team thats plays in the 3rd tier.

With the main team battling relegation and him being an unexperienced 20 year old loanee i doubt he is gonna get lots of playing time for the rest of the season. But i guess it's better to play for the U23 than only rotting on the bench for the main team. At this age he needs to play as much as possible.

                That's grim.

And some people here were calling for him to be included in the TM roster.

He still should be based on talent. If you watch him play you can see how much pace and press he adds when he turns his switch on. Certainly better than all the likes of Noorafkan/Cheshmi/etc.

He seems to be stuck in a agent hellhole like Amin Dostali and Dawid Rezaeian. All of them are getting passed around on loan in bottom tier polish leagues because Pogon is waiting for them to turn 21-22 before integrating them into main squad.

Kind of difficult to watch him play when his first team activity has been a total of 40-50 minutes over the course of 4 games in the last 8 months.

I’d love for him to succeed and see him in Team Melli. He has been one of our best youth players since the age of 12 and did great in Pogon’s youth team but we also have to be realistic. Right now he’s not performing as expected and has not done enough to be called up to Team Melli. In Dostali’s case, he was nowhere as impressive as Rostami in Pogon’s youth teams and is not even a regular starter in their reserve team.

We have to realise that the majority of youth players do not make it to top level football and that’s OK. Let’s hope a lot more young Iranian players join proper European (youth) teams to increase our chances of having more cases like Azmoun.

And hopefully we see both Rostami and Dostali performing well in the future to deserve a Team Melli invite.

that is a brilliantly dispatched, incisive strike ...!
kid still has time on his side... so long he applies his trade in Europe ... i think his future still pans out for the best ..!!
wish we had a proper running TM U levels coaching and infrastructure for these kids to better hone and flourish their immense talents in national format at a much earlier age..!

True...I'm just questioning Pogon on their logic. You got this kid who contributes a G/A almost every time he plays a full match and you keep demoting him instead of rewarding him, giving him less and less time.

Why is him and team melli even mentioned in the same sentence? There are many better midfielders in the league like Fardin Yousefi, Haji Eydi, Khodabandelou, Sabet Imani and Hosseinnejad. Ghorbani also.

I mean most of those players are also 2-3 years older and have had more development. Khodabandelou was nowhere the player he is now when he was 20.

Aside from Hosseinejad and Khodabandelou, the rest of those players aren't much higher level than Yadegar. They're all around the same level. The reason why a special eye is kept on Yadegar is because he's been our best youth player since he was like 12 and last season he scored 18 G/A in 26 games with Pogon youth teams.

Rostami is a very capable player. The transition from youth to senior football isn't always easy and might take a bit longer for certain players. Lewandowski at 20 was playing in the 2nd tier of Poland. Taremi was playing in Azadegan until he was 22.

Then again you have lots of examples of players who at 17 or even 16 had their first senior matches in top leagues, but didn't even turn into half the players that Lewandowski and Taremi became. I definitely have high hopes for Rostami. His technique, passing, vision and eye for goal is very promising.

Hopefully by next season he will get more playing time in the polish top flight. He could be an interesting option for our 2026 team.
