    Beiranvand's Performance Against Qatar

We've all seen the IG reels, etc. accusing Beiranvand of throwing the game in the Semi's. I couldn't find any good links but if someone has one please post it here.

What are yall's thoughts on that? He definitely seemed like a shadow of himself on the pitch that day. Mental preparation and focus is a big part of being an effective goalkeeper but my instincts tell me something was not quite right that day and that something wasn't related to anything that was happening on the pitch or related to football in any way.

Did someone contact him and promise him a nice pay day? Did the regime in Iran pressure him in some way? Although I'm not sure how TM losing would benefit the regime, but you never know what happens behind the political scenes.

Or Is it just time we moved on from him as our number one goalie and considered other options? I just find it hard to believe that he tried his best on the goals we conceded against Qatar - He was slow to react on the first goal and got stuck ball watching, his positioning on the goal line was pretty bad on Akram Afif's goal as he should've taken a step to his left along with Afif as he cut to the right, and last but not least, awful and suspiciously hesitant reaction time on the third one as he failed to even extend his arm towards the ball.

Lolll doesn't surprise me one bit that YET AGAIN, the conspiracy theories are out!

I don't know what people are talking about with the third goal. Watched all those replays and beiranvand was beaten fair and square on the third goal.

He didn't just purposely not go for it.... It was a great finish and he was beaten fair and square. The ball passed by him more quickly than it looks on a replay on television.

These conspiracies are getting out of hand lolll.

              Underwhelming ..!
but hard to legitimately scapegoat him as the reason for our loss..!
his whole of AC performance was pretty much that way..!!

              Ps
GN is fool for not inviting and keeping Abedz at least as one of his top 3 keeper choices..!!
personally feel certainl we woulda fared much better with him in between the sticks ..!

The lengths Iranians go to avoid accepting that Beiro is overrated.

I guess he was paid by Hong Kong to play like shit, and paid by every team in the Belgian league too.

Man he wasn't even bad versus Hong Kong. His tackle was poor, but he had barely any time to adjust after Cheshmi's sooti.

I still think he's an underrated and disrespected goalie. Fans don't know his worth.
Everyone thinks he is to save every damn ball. Biggest issue is we are swiss cheese in the middle of the field.

What did we think he was gonna do... randomly drop his awful form and be a showstopper suddenly at the AC?

This is the guy who Skocic benched for Abedzadeh...for conceding so much.

Beiranvand has made a major gaffe almost every game for club level and country last 2-3 seasons. Someone could make a compilation that's 15 min long just past 2 seasons. Just this AC he had got away with a handball outside of penalty area and then conceding a penalty against Syria.

He got sent back from Belgium from conceding tokhmi goals. When will we stop hyping him up and accept he's just slightly above average?

Beiranvand must have a cult following or something because the mistakes and sootis he's made since 2019 would have resulted in him being benched in any other national team. Imagine if Matt Turner suddenly does this in the US?

I'm familiar with the story, it just sounds like a bunch of excuses to me and not the whole story. He's created too much drama in his career for me to believe his story at face value tbh

The red flags were there for people to see. Even v Cambodia he was rash and conceded a penalty in a 16-0 win

against Hong Kong he was flimsy and if var did a proper check he would’ve been sent off . We were very lucky then but maybe a red card would’ve been the best situation as we wouldn’t have played with him v Syria .

people blame the Qatar game but really if he was good enough he would’ve succeeded in the Belgian pro league alas he didn’t his footballing brain is just poor. I would much rather we had South Korea’s goalkeeper as our goalkeeper his performances were genuinely good and until we have someone at his level then goalkeeper is considered a weak point.

I also think he got away from criticism because some of his mistakes were against teams the fans don’t care about much like Hong Kong and Cambodia. Trouble is he then repeated these same mistakes in games that actually mattered like Syria and Qatar and THEN fans start coming up with bribery conspiracies or poor performance criticisms the fact is the weak points were also in the group stage and the Asian World Cup qualifiers 2022 2nd round
