We've all seen the IG reels, etc. accusing Beiranvand of throwing the game in the Semi's. I couldn't find any good links but if someone has one please post it here.
What are yall's thoughts on that? He definitely seemed like a shadow of himself on the pitch that day. Mental preparation and focus is a big part of being an effective goalkeeper but my instincts tell me something was not quite right that day and that something wasn't related to anything that was happening on the pitch or related to football in any way.
Did someone contact him and promise him a nice pay day? Did the regime in Iran pressure him in some way? Although I'm not sure how TM losing would benefit the regime, but you never know what happens behind the political scenes.
Or Is it just time we moved on from him as our number one goalie and considered other options? I just find it hard to believe that he tried his best on the goals we conceded against Qatar - He was slow to react on the first goal and got stuck ball watching, his positioning on the goal line was pretty bad on Akram Afif's goal as he should've taken a step to his left along with Afif as he cut to the right, and last but not least, awful and suspiciously hesitant reaction time on the third one as he failed to even extend his arm towards the ball.
