You're correct that sardar and mehdi should be appreciated. At the same time, keep in mind that hashemian was often times forced to play out wide, just so Ali Daei can play striker... Even even hashemian was paying for BAYERN while Daei struggled to even sprint... Playing in the middle East at the time.

Just saying that the stats might not necessarily dictate the whole truth or reality of the situation.

Daei really should have retired after AC 2004. But even after he retired from TM after WC 2006, Hashemian wasnt really too convincing if you check his stats. He went on to play on for 20 more matches and scored only 2.

No disrespect to him i mean he played for one of the biggest clubs in the world, gave us some nice goals both in TM & Bundesliga, and he's defintely among our 5 or so best FW's ever... But in my opinion Sardar & Taremi are a class of their own. The stats don't' lie.

In 2019, Torabi lifted his shirt up with a message of support to the government during the 2019–2020 Iranian protests as well. The literal translation of his message was "The only path to salvation of country is to follow orders of the leader".

During the Mahsa Amini protests he also openly wore a shirt with Khamenei's face wnd expressed he would like to gift a ball to him.

Also keep in mind, the 2019 incident where he had that message on his shirt was the game after women had first been allowed into the stadium(Iran-Cambodia). The timing and message is actively against a large portion of TM fans.

I couldnt care less what Taremi, JB, etc support because they root for all Iranians to succeed while Torabi only roots for the former windowwashers turned rahbars

You're correct on his low scoring stats post 2006... At this time however, Hashemian was already past his prime. I'd say by 2007/08 max, he was definitely past it. Also, team melli was in terrible shape from 2007 onwards under Ghalenoi... Until CQ came and started rebuilding in 2011.

Unfortunately, it was during his prime years at bochum + his 1-2 seasons at Bayern, that he had to either sit on the bench/play as a winger cuz of Daei.

He was a regular in Bundlesliga for many years, which was a stronger League than Portugal/Italy today.

Regardless, sardar and mehdi are legendary don't get me wrong. I agree with you here.
