With all due respect, but I will never understand the mentality some people here have. Why would you ever want to be champions, if you had the easy road? How could you ever be proud of your achievements, if you knew, you had it easy and didn't beat the best? In my humble opinion, this is the very idea of a WORLD CUP. Play the very best. Winning DESPITE the odds! I would prefer Iran to lose fair and square against the best, rather than them reaching the finals by beating weaker teams only because of a strategic loss in the group stages. That is not sportsmanlike behavior and in my opinion there is no honor in winning like that. I know other teams do this as well, and in 20 years most people will only see the title, and not the way it was achieved. But deep down we would always know how we would have reached that title. I for one, do not want such a title. To quote a metal song from my youth: "We would rather fight and die with honor, than to live with shame"

Believe in the boys. This is Football/Futsal and anything can happen! They have beaten Brazil before!

Both can be true, no? I also love the idea to play against all the really good teams, there is no gain in thrashing Asian nations again and again - but also from a regeneration point of view we are in disadvantage, if we exclusively play absolute top-class teams in a row.

The supposedly easy path does only exist, because the tournament was designed in a way, that simply does not seem fair. I would be happy that the outcome of a tournament would roughly reflect the real strength of a team.

For it potentially, the ranking of coming teams look like this:
      Morocco (6th) - knockout
      Brazil (1st) - quarter
      Spain (3rd)- semi
      Portugal (2nd)-final

Thailand (as 2nd in their group) or France could instead get (lets assume the hardest path)
      France (10th) - knockout
      Paraguay/Afghanistan (13th) -quarter
      Portugal (2nd) - semi
They could easily go to the semis, despite becoming second in their group.

Anyway, I hope and believe we can beat Morocco, you could see in the Portugal game, that they still lack big tournament experience and were outsmarted one or two times. Still a respectable team.

      Regarding Brazil:
You can view it from two sides - in the CONMEBOL chamipnship, they have beaten Venezuela 3-0, we did 7-1.
On the other side, we have beaten Thailand 4-1 in the AFC Final, they did 9-1. The latter game was a meaningless game for Thailand though. I would not say we are on par, but a last-minute goal win or penalties is doable. I

Look at Spain in the Euros. Beating every difficult opponent won them a ton of respect from all of the plaudits and there was no question they were the best in that tournament.
This is the example they should follow.

But we are iranians, its in our DNA to always wanting to take shortcuts and when we always fail we always point the finger.

Belive me, neither Spain or Brazil wanted to have us on their side either, we are a futsal powerhouse and still go whit our shit mentality.

We ourselves are our own badbakhti

Based of the history for the past 8 years now ,,,,
            2016 - Argentina won
            2020- Portugal won

so the 2 recent past champions we avoid until the finals….

But this Brazilian team is always in the running , then again they are not that team of old with folca where they destroy everyone , they are a beatable team ….

the reason that the Europeans and even us beat them is cause Brazil has no tactics they never have they just play ,”jago bonito” there players have always been way more technical than everyone else now it is different

I mean if we don’t make mistakes we could probably maybe beat them …

but watching the Costa Rica game you can tell that Brazilian score of the other teams mistakes a lot ,,, you make a defensive mistake they score , you make 3 defensive mistake , it be 3-0….. I mean we have to get past Morocco first and they aren’t easy either so , hopeful this team has what it takes to make a name of themselves, beating Morocco beating Brazil and then Spain ,,,, would the biggest achievement ever….. and if they get to the finals and beat whoever is there , they would for sure go down in history….

^^lets get past Morocco first before we can talk about Brazil. I am doubtful we can get passed them. Morocco match up will with our team and they always give us problems.

Surprising results in the 2nd round, Holland lost to war-torn Ukraine handily.

Tm coach job is on the line against morrocco.
Our players want revenge losing the fight and game to them last time they play.
Morroco is top 8 team in the world
So this is 2 big boys meeting in r16 instead of qf.

My prediction is we will win.

They should have crashed out in QF, but the referee didn’t award Germany a penalty. Even UEFA recently admitted to this mistake.

But yes, beating every difficult opponent earns you massive respect. The question is not if our team can beat Brazil, because they can. The question is if we’re capable of beating Morocco, Brazil & Spain in quick succession? I’m doubtful because Brazil have 2 days more rest than us & Spain have an easy route to the SF.
