Mancione has been in charge of defense for more than a year now....I can quite confidently say our defense hasn't gotten any better even if we play full strength XI without youngsters.

Therein lies the problem, modern football needs a micromanager that thinks about the small details. There are some things going uncoached on a micro level at certain positions and player selection wise that's making me doubt he knows what he's doing.


You need a tactician minded coach to succeed. When his excuses are "I didn't wanna touch the winning team" and "footballeh digeh" in response to why our defense was so bad, do you really wanna see this guy take us to the world cup?

if you want him to get fired then dont call him for general, cause you clearly dont respect him enough. our performance against Hong Kong wasnt perfect, but i have faith that ghalenoei can turn us into one of the best teams in the world. we have a talented squad with a good mix between experience and youth, now they just need time and i am confident that we will be able to perform against the best teams in the world

GN pushes way too many players in attack
I’ve noticed not only the Full backs but even our CBs are frequently present in opponent’s half of the pitch ..!
it’s a very attacking & risky approach that’s bound to get us bit on the asss time to time on swift counters ..!
the seemingly all out attacking game approaches of general to me sorta looks reminiscent of that of SC in Porto ..!?
I don’t care who’s put in charge of defense we bound to give up some goals from time to time going on aggressive all out attacks so frequently..!

@ least it's far Far more attractive & entraining to watch than the 1-0 ultra defensive dulldrumed games under CQ ..! But like I said before such foolish approach will result in massive, embarrassing loss vs higher quality opponents, especially such we are likely to face @ WC ..!

Once again a coach is coasting through the power of Azmoun and Taremi. I seriously think without those 2 we have a very dark future ahead. At their worst they are still 3-4 leagues above players like Moghanlou. Will be interesting to see if we even qualify for the 2030 WC after these 2 retire. We don't have many standout players, just a bunch of solidly average ones.

Eternally grateful to CQ for making gold out of a bunch of nobodies like PAG/Haj Safi/Amiri/Ansarifard. He made all those players able to compete with teams like Portugal/Spain when they really are average.
