One thing I noted during the match: Taremi was often leading the midfield in the attack. I saw several times that Sommer would feed taremi in the midfield and he would dribble it up and create the plays. This tells me the coach and his team have a lot of faith confidence in not only his abilities, but his footballing IQ.

watched whole game. He was brilliant. Probs would have taken MOTM had they held on. His passing was crisp and almost always correct, his touch while running at speed on a few occasions very impressive. Game in general was a real spectacle and I knew so many non-Iranians watching, pleasure having one of our guys involved so heavily.
The goal itself was stunning, to touch into his path and finish like that on the run is world class. You could tell his confidence went up considerably post assist and then several notches post goal. He has been low on confidence in front of goal for both club and country for some months now, although of course his overall play has not really dropped much at all. Still think he is gaining chemistry with teammates as well...multiple occasions where a good early cross today similar to porto days would have likely seen him trouble chosi milan cbs. Barella did it once and it nearly came off, but dumfries in particular turned down some solid openings to target mehdi.
Inter badly lost control in last 20 mins, especially down the sides when Leao came in. Although in possession they were doing themselves no favors either and I think losing hakan really showed at that stage, since Aslani (besides totally letting leao run beyond him for the winner) just cannot dictate tempo of a game at this level.
Anyways, fk this tinpot cup in saudi. Leave it to Puli to be halgir on Jan 6th...Inter need to wisen up and use this as fuel for second half of the season. They are real contenders for league and CL double this year (and the actual italian cup) if they start to kill these games they are leading, whether thru more goals or smarter possession.
Was an important match for both Mehdi and Lautaro confidence wise...Lauta was really starting to harm the side overall with selfish ass play while trying to get on the scoresheet. Hope Mehdi kicks on second half of the season, he is getting decent mins and inzaghi saying hes doing all the right stuff, just really needed a game like this one.
P.S...as usual he is doing more for iranian football than anybody in decades. Bandari cele with entire inter team post goal? in Saudi? Come on give the guy his fkin flowers ppl.

Damn, Italian media shows no mercy towards Aslani.

PS
SC reminds me so much of my bit older brother/all time VB partner...! he is similarly an obnoxiously intense competitor and a total control freak ..! such a polarizing figure, over the years ive played VB with him indoor/outdoor with hundreds of teams here n there and they All hate his guts even as teammates (che bereseh opponents) YET ive never seen anyone ever be able to get the Absolute Most possible from them as a player as him..!! he thinks every game is a WC Final ALWAYS WANTS TO WIN and goes apeshittt on all his teammates if they dont give their absolute all ..!! 😝
master of mindfkin the opponents & jaakhaali endakhtan.... decades ago when bit younger and more agile still , together weve won so many doubles beach vb tournaments against college level/ near pro-level VBiers, some guys we had absolutely no business even competing against ..! 💪 😎

In my opinion, Sergio won that game. When he substituted Rafael Leao in (another Portuguese) that really changed the dynamics of the game. That kid is really good. And he was playing with a smile on his face the whole time. Watch that last assist, not only did he have a smile on, he also bounced the ball over the player. I may look like an accident, but he meant to do that, as he knew that a pass on the ground would’ve been blocked by the sliding defender. That street ball. Just goes to show how far good coaching can take you. Inter should’ve brought that game up.
