I’m very proud that Mehdi made it to this level, he was a late bloomer in football. But I’m also sad that we know now that we saw his peak in Porto and during the previous WCQs. I was hoping he’d defy the odds and excel in inter and give us some last solid few years at a very high level.

It seems unlikely that he will adapt, get past his physical issues and to ever become a starter. So we will most likely now just see him in the WC with nagging problems then eventually head downwards in his trajectory further and move to the Middle East.

A nagging groin issue at his age means he is probably finished at high level football. Reports from italy said he was having issues back in porto as well. Would explain why he suddenly turned into Alekasir last year. (And why we were able to defeat japan but played with 10 against qatar.) I believe it was also groin problems that turned fernando torres into nothing…

yea if a Naggin/Recurring one, it could well expedite his path to retirement ..! :/
i think an extended (2-3 months or more Rest..!!?) could well do him lots of good on the proper healing front as well..!
this injury usually sparks and flares up from physically over exerting oneself..!! probably didnt help him much with SC over-playing/riding him hard like a rented mule in his Porto spell..!?

he looked pretty sharp and lively in pre-season and earlier in the season anyways and TBH he is still overall performing pretty damn decent for a not 100% fit player, regardless of struggling for finishing touches ..!

No Rest for the weary though..!! 💪 ...... at least doesnt seem like any extended rest is on the horizon for him until Summer break ...!!?

I’ve been away from the country for near 40 years anymore. I can’t tell what these Millards of rials amount up to in real currencies..!? 😝
back in those days I used to get some 2-3 toman in pocket money from my bros & I was probably the richest kid in my school..! lol

but seriously unless his injury gets the best of him, I don’t see him opting for money. He still have one more year guaranteed at inter making over $3 million a year, which is plenty dosh ..!

He is done with Inter and Inter is done with him too. I think he will move to something easier next season. I just hope he wins at least a trophy with Inter.

Why should he go to a mid table Bundesliga team, when he only has a few years to play and can make big money near home? If I was him I would choose money over mid table teams at that age and stage..

He will 100% stay in Europe next season. The season after that though? He will 35 years old and free agent. At that point let him do whatever he wants...I don't mind a 35 year old going to Shabab Al Ahli....I mind them a 23 year old Ghorbani going to UAE much more

I always say, when you are at a club and everything is perfect, like it was at Porto, i would never ever move to another team, yes of course sometimes something great happens and you leave, but it was clear from the beginning, i mean i didnt even expect him to play as much as he does right now, we should be very happy with his playing time, but damn ....... i really enjoyed him at porto. Now that he is at inter i hope he stays if he can for another season before anything, not like sardar who left after several games.
