Take a moment to appreciate how big this is for our football.

An Iranian footballer playing for arguably a top 5 club in the world is starting ahead of a world Cup winner (and one of the world's most expensive forwards) against one of the world's best two clubs.

Hope he plays his career match!
Can't be any better opportunity or bigger stage!

One thing I am good at is knowing what sources are usually good and which ones are garbage, I spend too much time on Twitter and other outlets every single day of my life to not know

              let’s go Mehdi!!!
              Team Meli Iran
              Perspolis FC
              Malavan Bandar Anzali

I am nervous for him, I can't imagine what he must be feeling.

Again, very important for him to get off to a good start to give him confidence for the rest of the match. Fingers crossed.

it was a sensible decision to start mehdi (who's one of the best Defensive 9s in the world) in such a largely inconsequential game, where they be lucky just to squeeze out a lucky draw from..!! and save the tired and outa form seeming Tauro for the Milan Derby coming up in 3-4 more days..!!
regardless, i am pleasantly surprised and totally was still expecting him to come off the bench regardless of all the usual promising noise of starting..!!

asking for a goal maybe too tall of an order today as they'll likely be on backfoot for vast majority of today's game ? but i fully expect him to have a good game with hopefully an assist or two off the break ...!!?

anyways i blew some $eriou$ do$h on his DHgate UCL jersey and badly need a proper excuse to wear the damn thing to our sunday soccer this weekend so he better not choke and have himself another one of those forgettable, largely anonymous performances today..!!

i think he will be fine. he has had enough big games in his career to get his nervous in order.

yea , i dont take him for the nervous type at all...!! beside been there done that ..!

in fact today's likely conditions ( mostly defending and occasionally countering) should play well into his strength..!! definitely far more than the last weekend game when he was facing a constant parked bus with scrubb 2nd teamers in his MF support..!!

Before we all get mad, I don't think Thuram and Taremi mesh well.
Thuram is not go at quick combination play, which is what Taremi does best.
