Some of them deflections, he was basically lucky.

Both Thuram and Martinez have had chances from start vs weak teams in Seria A while Mehdi's few starts have been in UCL vs top teams with top defence like City and Arsenal. Against Red Star, he got the same chance and he was MWP. So if he got more starts in Seria A, like Thuram, I'm almost sure that he would have scored as many as Thuram so far.
      Strategy has been clear.
Whenever they need to score and play "Open" - Taremi is benched.
Whenever they need to play alt more defense, press alot, and play compact - Taremi starts.

Forget about taking Thuram spot. I was just looking at fotmob app and his offensive advanced stats are lower than Azmoun’s from last year!

very much agreed. Thuram got super lucky earlier in the year with a ton of deflection and tap in goals…I said it then and now that things quieted down for him it stands out more/validates what I said that he was mostly getting lucky.

          Perspolis FC

Yes, and truly believe that if this trend continues with Thuram, Taremi will take his place if he manages to score the first goal. Just like he did in Porto in the beginning with Marega.

Was reading on persian media Gazzetta dello sport was bashing him as he failed to respond to the expectation! Not not blaming them tbh if it is true!

And this one needs to talk to psychologist while he still has time! He went from a 30 goal striker that defenders were scared of to one that jeesh in his pants in front of NK goalie!

He was excellent today. We wouldn't have had any chances without him.
He needs to fix his body language, but even at 50% he is the best player on the pitch by far.

I disagree. His assists were great, but he was far from excellent. He ruined 4-5 great scoring chances with poor touches and passes as well.

He was a solid 6.5/10 today

He wasn't perfect, but he was not the reason we suffered today as fans.

You can thank the crossbar for that. An own goal and then a missed pen in addition to usual apathetic performance? He was inches from having most disastrous game in TM history and possibly sending TM to second place in this easy group.
