He's always going to have less G/A than Lautaro and Thuram because he will always get half their minutes. Taremi is not getting ahead of either of them even if he scores 3 hat tricks a game. No coach is going to start a 33 year old in retirement zone ahead of a 27 year old captain

infact after Ali Daei i can’t recall any better finisher in our football history better than Azmoun!
in 70s, 80s we had some great strikers but it was on quite small sample and they were not playing as many matches as today!

And that's exactly where it differs between, for example, Thuram and Taremi. Mehdi would never ever take a shot from there and even if he did, he probably wouldn't even have hit the target.

He can’t be that good if you have to ignore a striker who actually achieved something on the big stage.

Martinez is not losing his spot ever, they need his value to stay high so someone can pay $20 million for him if they ever wanna sell him. It's a financial thing as well.

Next league game is this Saturday against Cagliari (bottom table team), would be nice to get some decent minutes. Then Supercoppa against Atlanta on Jan 2 (they're top of the table right now with one more game played). He'll probably start that game. But would rather have it the other way. Maybe Inzaghi will change it up since the tournament games are becoming more important?

Besides he is playing pretty decent football still regardless of low production rates so far & similar to Mehdi his general performances effect positive end results for the club ..!
In addition as others mentioned due to his captaincy, being on high wages & general club super star status, he’ll be afforded more & more game time, especially vs minnows in order to ease him outa his current scoring slump..!
