You guys are monsters. Taremi makes one mistake and it justifies an immediate sub? How many points have they dropped the rest of the season when other players did the same multiple times.

I watched Taremi until he was subbed off. He’s a selfless player on a team that has too many selfish players.

Overall, his teammates don’t look for him, or give him the simple layoff or cut back pass he’s looking for.

The fact he was subbed off because of one mistake, is harsh.

The reason why he has such great chemistry with Azmoun on TM, is because they’re both extremely selfless, and as a result, both get rewarded statistically.

I’m starting to think Inter isn’t the best fit for him, less to do with his own talent, but rather his teammates’ mentality.

It may seem harsh but as a pro playing at this level, everyone's expected to make certain elemantry plays; like picking out a teammate on either side before the defender who's been trailing you for 40 yards catches up to you and cleanly takes the ball away with a simple tackle! This wasn't just a regular mistake, some ppl here compared it to Thuram or Martinez taking bad shots and missing, but this was an amateurish mistake with so much on the line at a critical juncture in an important game. Inzaghi had a right to get pissed off and expedite the sub that was already in the making anyway. He's given Mehdi so many chances this season. Taremi is not a starter and he hasn't paid his dues like Martinez or Thuram to be afforded the same level of leniency when it comes to making mistakes.

I do agree with all that you said regarding the lack of chemistry between him and his teammates and how him and Azmoun play well together. His Inter teammates obviously don't get him and his preferred playing style or maybe they just don't care to! Chemistry is a two-way street, it's not really the team's job to adapt to Mehdi's style of play but more so the other way around. If he was a star player like Martinez, he would get the star treatment, and his teammates would cater to him differently, but he is not, so it's on him to make the adjustments needed to succeed in his role. Unfortunately as we've all seen so far, it doesn't look that way and it would be wise for him to enjoy the rest of his playing days in a team in which he is a better fit. All that aside, he is also probably past his prime. So there's that too!

Theres an argument that bringing him on as a sub or playing him in case of injuries is still on the table because they want to make more money off him if he does well.

Taremi hasn’t been his old self but to be honest I also have to blame Inzaghi for Taremi‘s poor performances
To me it looks like it was not a Inzaghi transfer but rather Oaktree Capital and Inzaghi did not even study how to best involve Taremi into a game
I mean it‘s really simple, play a long ball behind the defense and let him be in Striker position..this happend exactly once when Acerbi played a long ball against AC Milan and it lead to a Taremi goal…that‘s how he‘s scored most of his goals
Simone Inzaghi you‘re brother is Filipo Inzaghi, you should know how to send long balls behind the offside trap to score goals
unfortunately Canaloglu, Mikhtarian and Barella midflied creativity is close to 0 - compare that to FC Porto Fabio Viera, Jesus Corona and so on its like a complete different world
Inzaghi‘s system relies on Defensive Wingers like Dumfries scoring the goals - hence a world class striker like Lautaro Martinez also has problems scoring goals

So I think Inter and Taremi is a mismatch, and Inzaghi is also to blame
