Not a PP fan, but it's obvious that Guendouz is not the problem. While I think Rafiei is arguably a better player, I think PP's defensive flaws fall somewhere along the lines of poor midfield transition, weak players, and lack of strong coaching.

Foolad's scorer was 18 years old from Foolad academy while the one on Persepolis side was 34 years old. Both Esteghlal and Persepolis started the season as the oldest teams, finally starting to find out the hard way that youth athleticism is just as important as so called "experience" we tend to value so much. You need a healthy dose of both, and PP is learning that 30 year old Kanaani can only stay agile for so long before his knees give in.

Of course some players like Amiri get by with their football intelligence but he's an outlier not the norm.

Persepolis was already defensively poor last year, if yall remember PP constantly conceded random sooti goals. Torabi was critical in defense because he would always press and hustle back to press even more, losing him completely exposed the team IMO. This summer PP needs to sell Kanaani and PAG off because they are not worth their salaries, and invest in some some actual in form CBs like Aghasi. PP also needs to sell off Urunov while he's hot and make some good money because he's injury prone and I'm sorry but there are better players. Hell bring back Torabi or get Gholizadeh instead (since the guy is done for in Europe). Half the price and actually able to do something

Garrido is crushing it in Libya because he doesn't have to deal with Bi-Polar Iranian football fans and snakes in the locker room.

Salmani is so washed that everywhere he's been the coaches gave up on him after handful of games. Doesn't matter the position he plays in, he's incapable of giving any effort off the ball, and he when he gets the ball he dribbles too much.

Regarding salmani
Yahya played him in his real position and he shined.....
But yes him not playing soccer minutes has made him bad.
He needs to leave pp as free agent, sign a contract saying he only play dmf,acm,forward.
Like reza asadi contract says absolutely no defense position.
He is very young and can not say he is washed up.
