Azmoun has scored 13 goals in Champions league/ Europa leagues..Daie scored 5. Taremi for comparison has scored 11.

Who is playing fast and loose? Take the Zenit stats and flush them down the toilet! I’m talking about Top 4 leagues my ferend, not Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Ubekistan. Daei had a more successful time in Germany. Hashemian too.

I know it might burn for some of his fans, but its the reality. I’m sorry, I wasn’t controlling him with a playstation controller. Khodesh riid.

And lol, Leverkusen won Bundesliga when they dumped him and found a competent replacement. Daei actually contributed to a title winning season… Like Ali Karimi… Sardar isn’t the same class of player as these two.

Sardar without a doubt should still be a regular in team Melli and start with Taremi up front (even though I prefer a single striker in Taremi with azmoun being used as a sub). We would be screwed without his goals and assists for team Melli.

however, defending his club performances and decisions over the last few seasons is craaaaazy. 2 things can be true at once. 1. He is still a good player for national team and deserves to be included until the next Asian cup. And 2. You cannot defend his poor performances at the club level in Europe and use his goals in shotor league as indication that he’s still the same player he was years ago

The numbers I quoted were ALL from Europe not Russian league. So there goes your argument.

And Daie was a very minor part of Munich's team winning... otherwise they would have kept him. Karimi was even more minor. 3 goals in 33 games over 2 seasons.

Let's not fool ourselves. Neither Karimi nor Daie have anything having a semblance of Europe success. Bayern Munich wins with or without them, otherwise Karimi was a reason they came a disastrous 4th in his 2nd season!!!

And if top 4 league is your measure of success, then Taremi is a zero because he just started in a top 4.

Every bit of stat and measure you are using shows bias.

Azmoun is a top ten of Iranian football before turning 30. The emotional and illogical hate that athis forum exhibits is because we are disappointed that his BL/Serie A level club football has a failure. But his career is not over...

I keep seeing the phrase "Waste of Talent", people forget that when you're born in post revolution Iran and brought up in Iran's youth and school systems - the odds are automatically stacked high against you! Sardar and Karimi are just a couple of examples of exceptional talents who would've had totally different careers had they been born in say Germany, Spain, France, etc.

Sports are a fundamentals game and everything starts from the youth level, especially in a sport as competitive and as popular as Football. One of our most disciplined players ever in Taremi was even a late bloomer and at 31 y.o. he was finally able to move to one of the better leagues to come off the bench granted after many pro years and a couple of world cups.

Mojahed Khaziravi's whole career was ruined because he went to a basic party by the the average high schooler in Europe and North America's standards! There are so many of these cases of how the system and culture failed our talents in one way or another. Aside from the political/religious BS, language barrier, the fact that teams are hesitant to approach Iranian players because of sanctions, lack of revenue from jersey sales/sponsorships, etc. In what other advanced nation, do players have to deal with these nonsense hurdles? As if making it as a top pro isn't an extremely difficult & rare of a feat on its own.

Bottom line; stop blaming our players and setting unreasonable expectations for them.

His parents seem to have done him the biggest disservice with the way they've babied him, which isn't uncommon in our culture sadly.

Azmoun was in Russia from 17 and had plenty of west europe offers through his career. Much more than any other iranians, very well helped by the hype in european medias.

The only thing we can blame on Iran is his immature behavior, specially with social media

Yup, exactly my point! Russia - not a top tier league and barely tier 2 in Europe. Why Russia? Same reason TM can arrange friendlies with their NT, when nobody else wants to play us. Because they're one of the few allies Iran has politically, heck them and China practically own us. You see my point? Everything in Iran is tied to politics and religion. Remove that from the equation, which shouldn't play a role in a Footballer's career whatsoever to begin with, and you will most certainly get different results.

If anyone mentioned Turkey in this thread as next stop during last 3 years 10ta fosh mikhord. Now that he went to Dubai, FUCKING DUBAI, everyone is getting very creative trying to write a different narrative. As if he’s 34 and very accomplished in Germany or Italy. NA BABA RIIDEH BIG TIME. The absolute worst possible scnario of 5 months ago is the reality of today!

So many excuses for him. Just say he's a good national team player for Iran but his lack of discipline and professionalism throughout his career has been awful and that's why no coach in Europe wants to start him anymore. How many coaches u want to tell u he's fat and unfit? It happened in Zenit, Leverkusen, and Roma. Even in his two braces recently he got subbed out at the end. It's just what it is. I can't take your excuses seriously when he has belly and armpit fat everytime the camera closes in on him 🤷.

The matter of fact is that if he was more dedicated on his career instead of horses, he would have lasted longer in Europe and that's why everyone is annoyed at his rapid decline when he's still pretty young.

I mostly agree with your points.

I would say that his SM behavior is more benign than say, Mehdi or ARJ, who have posted pro IRI materials.

Do we think that SA owns a women's volleyball team in Iran for making more money or the good of his community?

But we need to judge footballers for their football.

Switch "good" to "great" and I would agree with most everything else you said.

Good of community? He closed the door for Iranian footballers in Bundesliga for another 10-15 years. His job is football not volleyball.

When he joined Russia, it was a respectable euro league, before the Ukraine war

all these bs goals in this Mickey Mouse league ain’t gonna reverse his massive fk up & get him back in most fan’s good graces .!!

Best case scenario for him, hes got 1 more, (this time watered down & much weakened) WC to finally step the fk up & be fit enough to partake & actually finally score a fking goal or 2 to prove his worth still to TM, so far as I’m concerned, the rest is just delkhoshi for naive fanboys of him ..!
