I watched the whole game just now! I guess the comments are very harsh!
We didn't play bad game at all! There were quite positive points :
    1. Nemati didn't look out of place at all for his first cap! Playing almost a half 10 men game!
    2. Saeid was solid, too bad this guy doesn't move his feet otherwise he would have been world class!
    3. Shoja and Milad had decent game
    ——
    Weak points:
    1. Sardar was totally out of shape! Wtf man!!
    2. Taremi invisible, quite disappointed at him!
    3. Jahanbakhsh passes were totally off! Lack of club was obvious in his game!
    4. Mohebbi was not fit either, just came back from injury!

Even with 10 men we were providing chances tbh!
Team still has long way to go but we were always a team relying on set pieces + Taremi & Sardar combo!
With Sardar fat ass and Taremi aging we are losing this advantage obviously!

The difference is back then, the reason why we tied all those games is because we didn't have a decent forward until Gucci saved us. We also had a defensive counterattacking system and every player knew their role and what to do in different phases of the game: counterattack, possession, defense, etc. So even if we didn't score we knew we weren't gonna concede a single goal.

With all the attacking talent in this team its crazy to be going such a long streak of games without more goals, and its not like we have a defensive system to fall back on. Can you imagine if this current team faced Portugal in 2018 with these tactics? Bad defense, bad midfield, and the finishing touch of a 90 year old on viagra.

Watch how our tactics were laid out in the Uruguay/Senegal/and Wales matches then watch any GN match. Its night and day.

And I'm not saying CQ didn't have his own share of problems, but I don't know how anyone can watch our last 22 games under GN and come out with confidence saying "yeah we're getting to r16 next world cup"

This is because of the mentality and tactics. We are constantly looking for scraps and individual plays.

There is no unified flow in aliasghari.

Yesterday Japan put Saudi to the sword in Riyadh and if you asked them to could produce a chance in 5-10 seconds.

TM has never been that efficient.

Very true , everything you do , you need to make sure to follow the correct form , for example there is a way of running correctly, with correct running form than running well be more effortless, than running without,,, so a plan that is careful planned out makes the process much easier ….

yes you are right it does not matter who we play we really struggle now to get a results , even Hong Kong was strong against us and it was harder for us to beat them ….

the lack of planning is purely evident with Gn ..

I personally expected much stronger Iran in the first half, esp with Taremi and Azmoun, but it felt like they didn't play at all. Overall, for me both teams showed a poor performance and refereeing was quite bad.
As you have most probably read through this thread 99.9% of Iranians are unhappy about tue recent performance of TM. Although what really amazed me was that upon Iran player's ejection from the game, the game flow gradually shifted to TM's dominance and Uzbekistan couldn't capitalize on the golden opportunity to press Iran and score a goal. Totally seemed like the Uzbeks were fully content with a home draw.

On a side note, I am interested to hear our opponent fan's take on the penalty kick being called off

GN’s biggest achievement in his tenure so far is beating Japan. Now, looking back it really was moreso because of the hunger & desire of the players.

When he played Omid as a DM, it wasn’t a genius move. He did it out of necessity because Taremi was out. The long ball tactic only worked because the Japanese lack good aerial defense.

Overall, his games have lacked consistency, offensive fluidity, and defensive organization.

He’s had plenty of opportunites to incorporate players like hosseinnejad and allahyar, and to help set up younger players for the future. He has failed.

We actually might play better against Qatar because they want to avenge their semifinal loss. However, it’d go back to the players’ hunger and desire. Nothing to do with GN tactics.

    15 matches vs iran
    1 win
    10 loses
    4 ties
    Does that to fans.

There was only one dominant player on the field yesterday and that was Khusanov for the Uzbeks. I cannot think of anybody on our side that had a decent showing.

People still think we are in 80s or 90s!
I am not saying Uzbek are the power in Asia, far from BUT we are not either! Are we better than them overall? Yes! Is the gap huge? NO!
They have 2 players in top 4-5 leagues! 2 x in Russia one playing for one of their best clubs! 2x in Turkey!
Please refresh my memory how many euro based legionnaire our actual squad has?
I don't like GN and i strongly believe he should be replaced for WC, but some complain like we tied Lebanon away!
We got a point away against a team which will possibly directly qualify to WC!( yes finally!)
Some of us need to put our ego away! Qatar won two back to back AC and last time we made to the final majority of us here were not even born!

I think this game was one of worst performance I have seen of TM. So many so called stars but barely 4 shots on target (That includes the one that Sardar barely touched the ball with his toes). I think we were lucky that Uzebekistan was as bad as we were and not manage to create chances. I was really dissapointed. Waste of time. I think people have forgotten why we watch football games. Because it should be entertaining even when it's goalless but it could be very entertaining anyway with combinations, longrange shots, goalkeeper saves... this game was just bad. Had besically none of the above. Alright, some people might say "we could have won if we got that penalty but it would have been pure lucky win. I mean just accept the fact, whey our best players in a game against a team like Usbekistan that barely had 2 shots on goal are our defenders (Shoja and Nemati) then you can think the rest yourself.

    I just don't get it.

-Ghaedi: The best performer in past few games. On the bench.

-ARJ: Every move he makes is another mistake. Starter and the captain 😞

-Azmoon: Invisible for almost a year, and again a starter.

The big names from CQ time are still starters no matter how terrible they are now.

The coach needs to get some brand new balls or a brain.
