Again the VAR cut our heads. I guess the machine or the refs there just don't like us. The obvious hand was not seen by the VAR? or is this just a way to win or not loose games? yeah for sure remember Qatar??? I hope we go back to real football with real referees. This is just not worth watching anymore.__________________________________________________ ________________________________________

We did get robbed of a clear penalty but guys, for the love of god and TM itself…..plz do not fool yourselves into thinking we deserved a win just bc we got robbed of a PK. That was (again) one of the all time worst, most flat TM performances with 0 tactical plan/execution. This is a pitiful TM and I would go so far as to say the worst since the early 90s. So many things wrong I truly don’t even know where to begin.Team Meli Iran

To me, this game summarised everything WRONG with GN and his approach:
* When you don’t give experience to younger players, they make mistakes like Hardani did today at right back. Away against Uzbek is a hostile environment, and he was off all game, even before the red card. Young players need time in better environments to prepare them for games like this. It was even unfair to Nemati to throw him in, though he did well. In saying that, another stupid red card due to our players weak concentration and application. Add it to a long list. This team needs a psychologist. Gheyrat is good but needs to be channeled in the right way.
* The Moghanlou sub was so bad, it defied belief. It essentially meant we were playing with 9 men, with Taremi as a deep lying central midfielder. He had Ghorbani or even Hosseinnejad to replace Azmoun and chose probably the worst player to play for TM, other than his previous favourite Khatibi. Moghanlou offers nothing, zero, zilch. Even in the last 10 minutes we made incisive breaks down left and right but he was no where to be seen for a low cross into the box. His movement is amateur. Might as well put a pole up front.
* We were trying the same “tactic” as the Japan game, long ball to Mohebi and inshallah, yet we didn’t change when Ghaedy came in, we were still doing long balls. Poor guy did well given the circumstances. Also, Beiranvand’s distribution is truly horrible.
* We will make the WC because of the new format but this team is headed for a complete disaster unless we have a new coach who introduces some technical players in the midfield and youth.

I see ppl talking about how overrated this Uzbek team was , it was never them , their level has always been this , limited talent with a hardworking mentality,,,,,,,
it was alway US who took our foot of the pedal and let these 2nd rated and 3rd Asian teams compete with us ….. (ex Uzbek , Qatar )
we need to get ride of players like Sardar ASAP,,,, he is not going to helps us anymore , he is actually hurting us more now
But my bigger question is , how can GN have been ignoring a player like Ali nemati all these time and when they got really desperate they invite him , then who are these players like hazbavi, yousefi, and so on who keep getting invited and when push come to shove they can’t even help us?!?!??
how many more Ali nemati’s are there that we have been over looking , we need to stop this and just invite players who are FIT , 1st and foremost, and stop holding on to these players , that are washed up and done , TM does not owe them anything,

We werent bad today. We had the game under control, both with 11 and 10 men. We didnt play to the best of our abilities, but thats because the coach has his limits. I actually believe we played the best we could with GN. Against Kyrgyzstan we were really bad. Against UAE we were really bad in the first half. But today away against Uzbekistan, we honestly had a good game. Not the best we Can, but overall the performance wasnt bad. People saying otherwise are just too angry at the coach, that they Will always Complain. We had many of these kind of games with Carlos also

Nobody should think Uzbekistan is a first tier Asian footballing country. That's just crazy!
It is just that we have a habit of messing up games with second tier Asian countries....Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, etc.
This was a good result for us. Obviously a win would have been better.
Lots of good experience for Mohebi, Hardani & Nemati..some for Ghaedi and Noorafkan.
So some newer/younger players got minutes in a crucial competitive game. Hardani got the lesson of his life (assuming he has a brain).

GN’s 4-4-2 with Mohebbi and JB on the flanks just doesn’t work going forward - there’s no creativity from either of them nor overloads and link up play with Hardani or Mohammadi. Everything becomes reliant on Ghoddos or Ezza playing through passes to break the lines with little angle because of our narrow 4-4-2.
Defence was solid: excellent debut from Nemati and Mohammadi was very good. Ghoddos was superb but Azmoun and Taremi were both off it. Azmoun looks overweight and out of shape and Taremi, as he did in the AC looks complacent, like he thinks he’s better than this level. Holds on the ball for too long and looks sluggish almost through an arrogance to try and slow it down and then beat one player too many.
Ghaedi was good again, gave us so much more balance and creativity going forward. Gholizadeh and Noorafkan also did well and looked lively when they came on.
wanted to add my own take:
-thought Beiro was good besides his distribution, wasn’t tested a crazy amount but had good positioning
- Nemati and Shoja both excellent. Shoja slightly better than Nemati, but Nemati still had a good debut.
-Milad was great defending 1v1, some bad passes but a good game for him. Hardani was ok.
-Ezatolahi and Ghoddos were my MOTMs… great games from them
-ARJ was better than normal, defended super well and was precise with his passes.
-Mohebbi was invisible
-Taremi and Azmoun continue to disappoint… Azmoun seems out of shape, and Taremi continues to have the finishing ability of a 90 year old without viagra.
-unpopular opinion, but GN’s subs were great today… Noorafkan and Ghayedi were both great off the bench.
-last but not least… Moghanlou needs to be dropped! Ghandipour and Saharkhizan are both future team Melli stars
