Iran vs Qatar Post Match Ratings

    Salam Bacheha,

Wanted to make some post match ratings for the game. Please add your ratings below.

Ghalenoi- 6, he would've gotten an 8+ if he actually played youngsters and seemed like he had a plan. I'm worried about what will happen when we play actually good teams.

Beiranvand- 6 average game. Better distribution than his match against Uzbekistan. Goal wasn't really his fault.

Shoja- 7.5 I thought he had a good game from the back. Controlled the tempo pretty well.

Nemati- 7 Goal was somewhat his fault, but he defended pretty well otherwise.

Milad- 3 first half, 8 second half. Defended well, but offensively was non-existent. Has no right foot.

Noorafkan 8- Had a great game. Two assists. He also took some of the best corners i've seen in a while. Defended well too..

Karimi 8- Had a great game controlling the midfield.

Ezatolahi 7- A bit slower and not as good as he was against Uzbekistan but still solid

Mohebbi- first half 4, second half 7.5. Honestly he was very wasteful, but anyone scoring a brace needs at least a 7.5+

Ghayedi 7.5, thought he was very solid. Great technique and eye for goal.

Taremi 3- Worst player on the pitch. Horrendous game from him... He tries passing on every attack, even if he is open for goal... Turned the ball over so many times, and just poor touches and decision making...

Azmoun 9- Best player on the pitch today! 2 goals and an assist for our boy! Really hope he gives Europe one last go...

    SUBS:

ARJ- 2.5 Nevermind, ARJ was truly the worst on the pitch At least Taremi had that hockey assist for Mohebbi's goal

Moghanlou- 7 Not as horrible as people think, but he's still not Team Melli level. Still he has an okay hold up play and had a nice offside goal..

Hosseinnejad- N/A I really hope he gets more playing time soon!

    Ghorbani- N/A

Noorafkan really proving all the haters (including me wrong) last 2-3 games. Lets hope he can keep doing this well

I really think Saharkhizan would be a great addition to rotate with Sardar around min 70. He's the same type of speedy and physical narekhar type of player that can come in and keep putting pressure.

Also the 8 minutes that Hosseinejad got you can tell he was really hungry to make a contribution he was sprinting back and forth ready for a counter

One of my biggest asks for Ghalenoi is to give youngsters more playing time!

Up 3-1 in the 65th minute, and you sub in a washed up, clubless ARJ???? Why not Torabi, Hosseinnejad or Hosseinzadeh at that point? Better yet, Allahyar should've been called up!

Hazbavi should've also been given a start today instead of Nemati, although given the results I can't complain about that decision too much.

The biggest crime of all is Saharkhizan, arguably one of our best legionnaires right now, not being called up!!!!

I thought Noorafkan looked good, but the first goal was totally on him. Backline was pushing the line up and Noor got lazy and kept Moiz Ali onside.

The players did well but anyone is going to rate: Kaleh Gohi or not? :-)

              I find Hazbavi very overrated!
Overall Nemati played 2 decent games even he was a bit responsible for the first goal!

In terms of youth CB, Zare ( 21 year old from Gol Gohar, he was with TM this camp) and Babak Rezaei (23 year old from Malavan) are in much better form than Hazbavi this season. And I'm a Sepahani

                  Iran_19 and Pluto2000:

Has Hazbavi been that bad? I haven't been watching much Sepahan or PGPL, but I feel as if he's been scapegoated a bit recently. I personally find him to be a calm presence in the back line and he's a huge threat on set piece headers.

He's not AWFUL or anything but he's not playing to his standard. He's still excellent in air but he plays it too lax for a CB. Think Beiranvand type dribbling and clearance that gives you anxiety whenever he has ball

                      Post match reactions:

Overall a solid lineup against Qatar. Defense overall did very well to slow down Qatar's attack.

Noorafkan was a standout for me. He should be our regular corner kick taker and given more opportunities.
I'm still not fully convinced with Nemati, but he looked solid and can be a solid bench player once Kanaani and Majid return to TM.
Even at his age, Shoja has been really solid lately and improving as he ages.

Karimi also stood out and showed he belongs in TM at a position that is in high demand for us since Ebrahimi retired.

We need some more striker options besides Moghanlou because he's not TM material.

Hoping to see more youngsters play against North Korea and Kyrgyzstan

This was a good performance for Asian levels. Tactics in general were right and most of the players performed.
In general we are having an issue of match fitness versus natural talent. Our talented players are struggling in terms of fitness, club form... whereas the ones who do ok in clubs just don't have that special ability so many of the 2018 generation do.

Even if we bring in the youth, we haven't seen a new Taremi, Azmoun, Ezatollahi, Gholi...
Let's hope we qualify as soon as possible as that is the only way GN will paly some more youth.

Games against North Korea (in Laos with alot of rain), and Kyrgyztan (Bishkek in November is cold) are going to be tougher than we think. North Korea is way better than results show. They're just incredibly unlucky.
If we prepare properly and not get ahead of ourselves we may secure qualification in 2024!

Beiranvand- 6.5 - Didn't have much to do. Maybe he could have yelled at his CBs to read the game a bit better for the Qatari goal,

Shoja - 6.5 - He and Ali Nemati need to be better coordinated on long balls.

                        Nemati - 6.5 - See Shoja's comment.

Milad - 7.5 (defensively he was a 10, offensively he was a 5). He didn't take a step wrong defensively. Took Afif out of the game. I am very happy he is getting the form we all loved him for around 2017-2019.

Noorafkan - 7 (offensively he was a 9, defensively he was a 5). He is not a good defender. Will pay against any major team with pace and technique. His offensive touches are excellent though, but he is too slow to utilize as a mid.

Karimi 7 - Good performance but I think this is his max.

Ezatolahi 6.5 - He was ok, but still too slow and too often Shoja and Nemati were exposed due to his laziness.

Mohebbi - 5 - Makes the wrong passes, runs, and can't defend. Two goals really made him look better, but he was bad.

Ghayedi - 7 - Good penetrative work. Shame he cant' defend. Again, against a high pressing, speedy European team he would be taken out of the game very quickly.

Taremi 6 - Even with his reduced speed, bad touches... he still made some really good plays. Our 3rd goal was 95%. No one else in TM can make the pass he made and that is why we struggle so much in the midfield.

Azmoun 9 - Scored two goals and then talked trash. I have to show respet.

                        SUBS:

ARJ- 3 - Could have had 3 goals but is just in really bad shape. Needs a club ASAP.

                        Moghanlou - N/A

Hosseinnejad - Looks hungry but not that involved.

                        Ghorbani - N/A

Taremi didn't play and hasn't played at the level of a Milan player. The suspicion is that he is holding back, avoiding injuries and saving himself up for the club.

                              That's bs.

None of tm players =to any Milan players play wise or professionally.......

Taremi is closes we have to ali daie for will and loving his tm. He is hardest worker on the team.and by far most professional work edict wise.

Problem is when people watch football they follow the ball only .only few pay attention to players play with out ball and create space for other players...yes sardar is man of big matches buy medi gives it all no matter if it against Pakistan or Portugal. Is his best enough to score against Portugal NO , BUT NO ONE CAN SAY HE SAVES HIMSELF.....
