Great move by Alireza. Pretty sure that he made the right decision. Hope he gets into the Team Chemistry asap and gets lots of playing time. Really looking forward to see him on the pitch.

Definitely a downgrade but considering his form, anything better than clubless and any Europena club better than the best Qatar/UAE club.

It's a short term contract that ends summer 2025 so he has a half season to prove himself.

Honestly a pretty good transfer considering the corner he's backed himself into.

Great move at this stage of his career. Top earners at Heerenveen make something like 300 to 400K a year so massive respect to him for not chosing Qatar/UAE. Too bad his NL passport took so long to get sorted else he would have signed 2 or 3 months ago.

How i wish Ghoddos who counts as an EU player would have made a similar move.

Hopefully he will retain a contract with them. They're on the bottom side of Eredivisie, so maybe if he helps them seriously climb up, they'll keep him. Two Iraqis on the team as well.

Ghoddos did not make money like ARJ. So it makes sense.

Gucci played in this team as well during 2016-2018 and scored 27 goals.

14 out of 18 right now, but not much separating them from mid table.

Thank god he didn’t settle for Iran, UAE, or Qatar. Although his form hasn’t been the best lately I really hope he can use this opportunity to grow. He is truly a captain and professional, what a delight seeing him speak fluently in Dutch. I remember when he first went to NEC him saying “first I want to learn English, then I’ll try to learn Dutch” now he’s fluent in both. He tries very hard and lives a professional lifestyle, he will do well again.

he didn’t take the easy route like Azmoun

He posted an Instagram story as when it took him so long to find a team. He said it was because he was working on this Dutch citizenship and could not leave the country to sign with other teams outside.

thats some bs excuse..!! he traveled to iran for international games... and why would they deny him exit to other places in europe..?
                              PS
i suspect that he had such offers as heerveen/other lower table occupiers of Eredivisie to consider way earlier in summer transfer window..!?, but perhaps not as quiet as lucrative one ??
anyways he wasted way too much time languishing on the sidelines trying for an upgraded club move that probably still yielded him decent roles and still high$$ enough salary and they just werent arriving in eredivisie ..!!
Also he/his agent shoulda known from get-go that outside holland EU clubs were only entertaining the idea of signing him IF and Only if as a FA EU passport holding player..!! it shouldnt have been that hard to hire a immigration lawyer to perhaps expedite the matter or at least inform him that the process was gonna take a lot longer than he had assumed..!
                              ps
WTF is taking so damn long...? hasnt he been a Dutch passport holder for over 5 years or more already..?? wonder why its taking so long for him to wrap up his dutch residency ??

anyways, this is a great move and im happy that he stayed in Eredivisie and in a club that likely afford him a significant playing role...!! let's see if he can come close to matching impact that Gucci had in this club..!!??
