What do you mean by being excited about this guy? I think everyone here is ready for an eventual transition to a younger winger in TM. However, why can’t we respect and enjoy literally the only player in our football with an ounce of professionalism. The guy is still starting in Europe. I mean that in itself says slot.

He plays in Europe and is professional ok. But he just put ok/good performance once/twice in a while both in Europe and with TM. He isn't young anymore to see progress from him. His style is very scholar and when it doesn't work well it's a nightmare (dangerous turnovers, no speed or dribble).
The only thing I expect from him is to open door for iranians in Holland by becoming agent or something like that

I don't know how you are still excited by this guy. He provides no promises for the future, I would have no problem seeing him in UAE last summer for a well deserved last paycheck instead of Ghoddos and Azmoun

In last 3 years JB was winning league and playing in cup finals while Azmoun was sitting on bench or injured (and kicked off champion team lol). JB doesn’t want paycheck, he prefers dignity and self respect. That should excite you when Ghoddos is walking around dressed as emirati.

Sure but playing in Europe for the sake of playing in Europe is useless if it doesn't translate with performance with TM. As much as I am mad with Azmoun playing against bengladesh defenders atm, he produce regularly with TM while JB is disappointing there except max 7 games (Venezuela friendlies, wcq 2022 against Qatar, SK and QF/SF at AC 2024). I don't remember other stand out games from him

Its true that in their peak JB never reached the same level as Azmoun, but to me JB can do things for TM that Azmoun or Taremi can't. Obviously no one would trust Sardar with two important PK, but does Taremi score both of those with his form of last 2 years? JB almost singlehandedly took TM to the final, which we would've won. And if you look the best opponent TM has played against in the last 3 or 4 years (SK x2, England, Wales, USA, Japan), JB scored critical goals in two of those games, while Azmoun didn't score in any of them. He is our best player in high pressure scenario imo.

And he scored the two first pk in ac but missed the 3rd (fortunately with Feyenoord), ending his career there with that miss.

He overperformed in limited games but that's not enough. Btw in the list of big games our lazy Azmoun was excellent against Japan and Wales.

Be happy that he's still in a decent league and can be a FANTASTIC example to the youngsters. He's a gentleman and a decent football player, He'll make a good coach and ambassador soon. I see him representing Iran at FIFA meetings down the line. Tanks gods we have him.

The most impressive tackle I've seen in TM since 2022 was strangely from Kanaani vs Uruguay (btw he was supposed to be banned for that game due to bus affair but federation turned a blind eye lol).

I think currently I can't decide who is worst defender in TM: Kanaani whose knees don't work, Shoja who can barely run and cramps by min 70, or Ezatollahi who moves like Po from Kung Fu Panda before he learned martial arts
