    Post your Football Memories Here

I think this forum deserves to have a thread about the memories each one of us has had in regards to football. So please share with us anything worthy of sharing with other football fans. So I start with one about meeting a legend below.

I was in Iran about 12 years ago and went to The Parsian Esteghlal Hotel, formerly known as the Royal Hilton Hotel in Parkway/Vali Asr with a few friends to celebrate a small birthday party in the cafeteria. I had to go to the parking lot to get something from my car and I passed a black BMW suv and suddenly saw Ali Karimi sitting in the car. I was so shocked and couldn't ignore it and went to him and said hello. This was the first time I met a legendary player like him close and in person so I was nervous. I asked him what he was doing there and he said he just bought the car an hour ago and was checking things to see if everything worked.

So I congratulated him and said that I was from LA and had a website about Iranian football called Persian Football. He was interested and kept asking questions about PFDC and I told him that we write in English and were mostly international and that I was doing a cultural thing and trying to bring young Iranians to our forum to help them stay Iranian and involved with Iranian football and he was very supportive and pleased about it. I asked him how he was doing with Persepolis as he was playing in my favorite team at that time during 2013 and he said everything was good and I told him about how I have always been a red fan since childhood and he was just listening and enjoying my love for his team. I saw that he was a little preoccupied with his car, I didn't want to bother him more so I said good bye.

I was really surprised how nice he was and let me talk to him even though he was doing something and was patiently listening to nervous me trying to just tell him how much I loved him and etc.

So after I go back to my friends after almost 20 minutes and everyone was worried I was apprehended by police or something I told them the story but nobody believed me as it seemed impossible that I would meet him because it would be a dream for any Iranians to meet Ali Karimi and their mocking went on for a while and they still could not believe it happened. Anyways this was my little story.

Ali jan if you are reading this, you are a class act and it was an honor meeting a legend like yourself.

Let me know if you have anything to share with our members and hope you liked the little story.

Here is a photo of the exact place where I met the legend.

Taking photos with 10 TM players and GN in June was the greatest day of my life. Never in a million years did I think I would come face-to-face with the only thing that gives me any type of happiness outside of family. Literally nothing comes close to my love for team Melli. Nothing
