I haven’t followed Iranian football extensively, but I watched Esteghlal's latest game under their new coach. I like that we’re bringing in coaches who are willing to take risks on young talent. One of the points he’s raised is that the team is too old (which is true for most teams in Iran). Just today, he was seen attending Esteghlal's youth team match. While they may not have an abundance of top young prospects, this could help us focus more on player development.
Recent Match Highlights
One standout was Albolfazl Zamani – just 18 years old! He scored and showed promise at right-back. This was only his third appearance for the club, but his first time starting. He initially came on when Rezaeian was injured against Al Hilal and played 84 minutes. Last season, he even played a few games for Paykan as a 17-year-old. Definitely a big talent to keep an eye on!
