Is North Korea supposed to roll over for us?
We were up 3-0 and then got a red card and everything that could go right for Korea did.

We need to stop this attitude of thinking teams are beneath us.
In my whole time supporting TM - we underperform against weak and same level teams, and then perform well (usually) against better teams.
We have a coach that does more harm than good , who in the right mind subs in

mahganlou and jahanbakash in a game like this ???

this team is talented but the GN is keeps us from going to the next level that we need to be at to actually do anything in the World Cup …

We got a stupid red card, not because Khalilzadeh f***ed up but rather Nemati. Nemati got caught in no man's land again (like the Qatar game), and the path to goal was clear.
If he had been in line to catch the runner - ref would have at most given Shoja a yellow and game would have resumed usual flow.

It's on GN that he starts a turtle like Ezatollahi against a team that relies completely on combo play and speed.
      Karimi was invisible.

MIDFIELDERS ARE SUPPOSED TO WIN DUELS AND CLOSE DOWN SPACE.

Some of the fans have completely lose it:
Praising Karimi when he did nothing even when we were up 3-0.
Bashing Taremi when he had 3 lovely assists, got a penalty (yeah he missed), and is the only creative outlet we have on this team.
Completely forgetting we're playing away against North Korea that spends months in camps, playing us with a man up, in a humid energy sapping weather, on a pitch that made Fooladshahr look good, after a cross continental flight, with 2 scrappy goals putting them back into it.
There is a reason alot of people half-seriously say 3-0 is the most dangerous lead.

My biggest issue with GN is his inability to fix the massive empty zone in front of our defense. Either crowd the midfield, or bring in a classic DM, because Ezatollahi and Karimi can't win the ball back.
The number of chances we gave away was mostly due to this, even with 10 men.

Overall good 3 points. That's what matters.

None of the stuff you guys are worried about will resolve itself unless a diamond in the rough CM/DM comes up in Iranian football.

I love you man, but I disagree about the shoja red card. Even if it's someone else fault that the Korean had a chance on goal, you can not stop a clear goal scoring chance that early in the match.

Let the goal keeper have a chance at stopping it.

Being down 3-1 with 11 men is a lot better than being down 3-0 with 10 men and 40 minutes left.

I know his record is very good, but that does not excuse his decision to aim at foot level when shooting right down the middle. Just think if N Korea had equalized how we would have all felt about the missed penalty.

FWIW, and I am no GN/Shoja apologist, I don't think Shoja meant to foul. It looked like their feet got caught together.

Defenders cannot let that go man. Its drilled into your head that you can't back down from a challenge like that.

If you were a coach and Shoja had let that go, you'd have subbed him right away.

Football is a game of millimeters, so I really don't blame him for it.

I am more concerned with Nemati being in the wrong spot for the 2nd game running

By the way, on a more random note, it looks AFC is starting to charge to stream matches.
You have to buy a "ticket". Time for me to get a GLWIZ subscription again it seems.

If it was minute 75 or later, yes I agree with you.

I can't get into the head of GN, but in all my years watching football, I don't think I've seen any defender punished for not getting red card that early in the match 3 goals up.

A good defender would have continued to chase the attacker and tried his best to make the shot on net as difficult as possible.

I really wonder if GN watches the matches on tape and analyse the good and bad things we do. Because some of the mistakes are the same over and over again. I really dont Think we watched anything. Its just pure vibes at this point

He knows we played poorly in 2nd half. He said so in the post-match conference.

Also Saman has hamstring issues and that's why he was a late scratch.

Just how many more times does TM want to experience this level of incompetency from its defender Shoja Khalilzadeh. This player keeps putting the team at risk time after time. Never learns! Never!

There are much better choices than him. Like Aghassi ...Kick this guy out for good. There was a reason CQ never put his trust in him.

And now that we are on subject of kicking out, please also include Milad, Moghanlou, and ...GN
                        - useless bunch!

                            Milad was excellent today.
                            Yousefi was ok.

Shoja will at least be out next game.

If anyone watched the 2nd half , they would agree that we should have lost this game , Very lucky we did not …

The only hope we have is GN leaving the team after we qualify,,,,,,

all these other team will just get better and stronger as the qualifiers continue , we seem to be getting weaker and weaker … but there is no excuses for playing a 2nd half like that even if we are 10 men ….

Fallah is awful , hezbavi has bright future imo.
Unfortunately young guys are not impressing so someone like shoja has chance.
