And what did we do against England with CQ? You guys keep thinking it's only a coaching problem when the main issues are A) political and B) Fundamental which goes back to politics. We will never make that leap and forward step in world football until we resolve the root issues. You could bring any world class coach and although it will help to bring organization and strategy to how we approach games (most will not step foot in Iran due to again, POLITICS!), we'd still be getting knocked out of group stage in the WC.

CQ is undoubtly a better coach than GN but his strategy was to park the bus and rely on prayers from counter attacks against better teams. We never really had a chance to beat Argentia, Spain or Portugal in the games we played well and got respectable results. Not to mention the most important games in which we fell short with him against beatable teams like Bosnia (2014), and US (2022) to advance from the group stage for the first time.

Who cares about CQ? I'm talking about GN. What's his excuse for conceding 15 goals in the last 16 games?

Nobody has said anything about wanting to get CQ back bro.
And it's not that deep, these same players beat Wales, Uruguay, Senegal (tied), and Japan in the last two years so we know they are capable if managed by a competent staff and coach who can actually have tactics and motivate them.

No idea who can defend the last few 5hit shows. Conceding two against Kyrgyzstan is beyond embarrassing. The teams we are conceding against are 10x weaker than what we'll face at the WC.

Imagine beating Kyrgyzstan by the odd goal over 2 games. Imagine not touching the ball for 2-3 mins in a game vs Kyrgyzstan. Imagine scraping past NK. Wait, no need to imagine!

Under CQ we conceded 2 goals in WC 18 in a group whit Spain, Portugal and Morocco, 1 of those was a world class goal from Quaresma that even Buffon would not save and the other one was a fluke ping pong goal between Ramins shin and Diego Costas knee.

Mohandes GN have conceded double goals against North Korea and Kirgizistan.

Man, the fragile mentality of this team is seriously concerning. To nearly throw away a dominant first half lead against a vastly inferior opposition once is bad enough, but to nearly repeat it days later is ringing serious alarm bells.

GN’s decision-making was atrocious today. It's hard to even describe how bad it was for the team when he hit the panic button with that quadruple substitution - I can’t remember any coach substituting a central midfield duo at the same time except when the team are already several goals down. It was even worse that he removed 3 midfielders after we’d just conceded 2 quick goals. Sent the team into total disarray.

Sardar and to a lesser extent Milad were the only bright spots today – Sardar looked sharp and confident in his link-up play dropping deep, and it creates all sorts of problems for opposition defences when him and Taremi both drop and combine and then Mohebbi and Ghayedi operate like inside forwards cutting in and overlapping with speed behind the opposition back line.
