Look at the Aria Jasur Hageswa situation - CQ didn't try to call him up until two months after the first thread about him went up on PDFC- coincidence? i really highly doubt it and i wouldnt be surprised if team melli staff watch some threads here at least.
And of course Gol Bezan's interview with Kaveh was bigged up by iranian media
pdfc and gol bezan are making a difference to Iran's football imo - may not be noticeable at first hand but when you dig deeper its plain to see
They knew about pfdc and ik...right now is even more popular since it's in English.
If in Google search ask a persian football question in english alot of the times pfdc comes up and a thread related becomes available as source...

If a player use NT and country with the main goal to improve his career or to target an arab juicy contract for a short term transfer, it is better for him not to come. Indeed now I can smell a transfer to Al arabi one or two years after joining TM.
About attachement I also understand but I expect him to start to go closer to Iran and iranian culture/language if he starts to represent TM. Dejagah and Zandi did a wonderful job on that.
I mean look at Jong Tae See - he was born in Japan to South Korean father and a mother of mixed Korean heritage - attended North Korean school in Japan then opted to represent North Korea on the national stage this got him a started spot against Brazil at the World Cup and the one assist he got during that game seemingly was enough to earn a transfer to the bundasliga 2 - he then retired from the national team the year after.
And recently look at Joel Kojo - he was born in Ghana, Ghanian parents- moved to Bishkek for 5 years became a Krgyz national and represented their national team - his WCQ performances alone earnt him a $400k move to SS had he stayed in Ghana probably no one would know who he is and he'd probably have faded into obscurity .
Football is a business, players have short careers and they aren't stupid - they know the eyes that international football would bring.I'd argue for most dual nationalities team Melli is the last of their priorities :
Steven Beitashour- Said he wanted to play for the US - said he was gutted about the injury- only picked us after the US ditched him.
Daniel Davari- Initially declined our request - only agreed to it after we qualified for World Cup
Aria Jasur Hasegawa - unused Sub for Japanese international match - then CQ tries to convince him to switch
Zandi- Played for the German u21 team first - we were clearly second choice for him
Saman Ghoddos - Seemingly was convinced by CQ and im not sure Sweden wanted him to be a regular anyway - he picked Sweden first .
Reza Gucci- he was a dutch international first too before he chose us
Dejagah - Again he was a German international who initially turned us down
in all cases we were second choices for dual nationals bar Omid Nazari- who lets face it was never getting into the Sweden team
Would Gucci have gotten the move to Kuwait if he stayed in the dutch league and never played for Iran? international football draws eyes to lucrative club moves- Eckert knows this - he an't stupid and he comes across really intelligent in this interview- one decent performance against a Qatar or Saudi and he will have eyes drawn to him from Asia's biggest clubs
international football is all about the money more so than the pride - most dual nationalities pick Team Melli out of resignation rather than necessity - its just the way it is. if eckert was passionate from day one for Iran he would have picked us when he got approached from Celta- alas he waited for his chances with Germany and Spain to be truly over firstPlease watch and Subscribe:

First Pfdc thread on Eckert was made when he was at Celta Vigo - ironically the first time Eckert was approached by Iran was during that time? Coincidence I think not
Hageswa was approached 2 months later by CQ after the PFDC thread was made about him here
so yeah this website definitely plays a big roll in team Melli - theres definitely some agents browsing through here

Even benzema regretted having chosen the best NT over his country of heart
We don't need mercenary mentality when it come to choosing a country to represent or the player should provide a big added value to what we have in stock (Dejagah..)

Im sure most of Indonesia's starting 11 can't speak much indonesian - Same with the Philipines - both sides flooded with people with 1/4 or 1/2 heritage who opt for it as a last chance saloon heck we saw Lebanon, Syria and Iraq call up quarter heritage players too - We are even seeing bottom tier asian nations like Hong Kong, Cambodia, Pakistan, sri lanka going down this route and with an increasing globalised world the amount of mercenaries in asian football will only increase.
Now we are seeing China and UAE hand out passports to a bunch of Brazilians too in last ditch effort to get a place at the world cup - china even gave a Congolese footballer a passport this week- theyre desperate .
any dual nationality player is somewhat a mercenary and with eckert i can't blame him seeing he's only 1/4 iranian and his grandfather never lived with him and has passed now. Can't expect him to be oozing ghormeh sabzi as he speaks. He wants the world cup and asian cup appearances because that will get him looks abroad Beitashour said the exact same thing. If he was Iran through and through he wouldve accepted a call when he was at Celta Vigo .
And maybe not having attachment to iran is a good thing - less likely to get caught up in politics or sarbazi off the field and more focused on the game

These asian teams are two levels behind us and are unable to produce quality players. I won't take them as example.
Several years ago we were killing ourselves for the Japanese Arya player, we finally produced superior players with iranians from Iran.
About Eckert, I just hope he doesn't count on TM only for individual gain (arab juicy transfer and a wikipedia line about a world cup participation)

I’m confused. I read here often than people think Belgium besides a few teams is IPL level. So then why is a 28 year old who can’t score in this league such an attractive option for our national team? Are those opinions of two different groups? Or is everyone just gij and confused? By the time his paperwork is done he is 29-30 and we have another old gol nazan on the team. I don’t see how this helps TM. If anything takes opportunity from younger Iranians.

he was on the radar of iranian agents when he had 0 goals at Celta so we have been after him for a while - still some documents relating to his grandfather are missing though which her aunt has trying to retrieve .
tricky situation in all ways. Please watch and Subscribe:

Let’s see what happens but I have significant doubts about if he will gel with the team. In TM, we have the cool kids gang (Taremi Ezza JB), we have the young bucks (Ghaedi Mohebbi) who are trying to mesh with cool kids, we have the old guard (Shoja Kanani Beiro Mimo Sardar) and lastly the outsiders (Ghoddos Hosseinejad, any young player that gets invited). Eckert will go in the outsider camp. Usually for these mercenary dual national types, they need to have a really high level of play to succeed in the team and Eckerts play is not good enough compared to Ashkan or even Ghoddos to cement himself at the team. TM culture is one of hierarchy and envy so I don’t believe he will ever fully integrate.
I say it’s better to keep hopes and expectations low.

The level he will be facing in Asia will be lower than that of the Belgian league and at a slower pace - Gucci flopped in Belgium and was still largely positive for TM - if he's integrated the right way he will be a useful additionPlease watch and Subscribe:
