I personally hope that none of our national team players or talented young prospects move to the MLS. The league's level is not higher than that of the Persian Gulf leagues or the European leagues where they are already competing, and the long travel distances could be an issue and impact their performance in the NT.

That said, I think Shahab Zahedi could be an interesting candidate. He seems adventurous and might be open to a move to the US. Aside from him, I wouldn't mind seeing players like Moghanlou, Khalilzadeh or Kanaani in the MLS if that would end their TM career 😅.

Zahedi would fit like a glove in MLS. Strong, athletic, can score with both feet and his head…..he has everything MLS teams look for. He isn’t in TM lists much so he wouldn’t need to give travel that much consideration…..IMO it’s somewhat manageable to be a TM player if you’re on an east coast MLS team but to be all the way out west it would make it pretty difficult. Then again Japanese and Koreans do an equally as long or even longer trip….but yes Zahedi would be perfect.

From the Iranian-Americans, Xavi Gnaulati would make the most sense since he's from San Diego, but he just extended with Monterey Bay FC.

From the Canadian-Iranians, Alessandro Hojabrpour is probably the best fit for the MLS.

From the Iranians, I could see Shahab Zahedi making the switch since he seems to be quite the journeyman.

List of North American Iranians is here:
