Even if Sardar/Taremi bail us out again, Ghalenoei needs to go. Skocic was 100x better and I was a big critic of his. We’re literally playing long balls hoping for a miracle every game, it’s so frustrating. Same as watching TM in 2009. No gameplan, no tactics. An aging team and a “coach” with no plan is a dangerous combination.

Fire Ghalenoei 100% after this match. Find a competent coach before the June games. I’d love an actual “attacking” coach to come in. Ghalenoei is not it. He’s barely a coach. It’s not a CQ defensive vs Ghalenoei offensive debate, it’s CQ had a tactic vs GN tactic less. We need a coach with a tactic, defensive or offensive at this point. Anyone is better.

The best scenario would be a loss against Uzb and a draw or loss of UAE against NK so we still qualify today. Then we can sack GN and have 2 WCQ to (finally) test new players.

Offensively TM can hang well just with pure talent. Defensively it cannot. And that's why just going default defense settings doesn't work with us. Especially when playing Shoja and Milad back there. Need those guys replaced and an actual defensive plan, only way to do that is a new coach.

CQ, say what you will about him let multiple games go by with no shots on target. It’s about game plan, ours leaves us very exposed and requiring us to win the offensive duel, and we are easily exposed when we can’t finish.

Agreed, but with a bad defense and letting in tokhmi goals, you’re asking a lot of the offense. It’s easier to win 1-0 than 3-2. We’ve done it against NK and Kyrgyzstan, but we will see if Sardar/Taremi bail us out again. Harder against Uzb and will be harder in the WC.
