I was working so missed the first half and then watched last 30 minutes of second half. Really poor performance from what I saw. The clearances from our defenders and midfielders were rushed and poor, why do we have a tendency to play like a bunch of school kids with no composure. The team need to have some sort of anxiety training when they play for the national team as everything is rushed.
There needs to be some changes with this team/squad but it won’t happen. We need fresh legs but no one is coming forward, as long as we make the World Cup then they won’t make changes.

There are other keepers I would rather play against North Korea. Keepers who may have to play at the world cup, if beiro gets injured or gets a red card. Playing Shakouri for the sake of just Playing doesnt make sence. I would rather Hosseini or whoever is our second keeper Playing, so he Can be ready is needed.

And regarding him being Third keeper. I have seen alot of podcast where top keepers tell how important the reserve keepers are at the world cup in training. And also for advice and moral boost. I just dont Think a 17 year old Shakouri Can help beiro more of the field and for example Niazmand or Khalife.

Of course if Shakouri shows on the pitch that he is the 3rd best keeper in Iran, then I Think he deserves the spot in the squad. But right now he simply isnt. One day he May be, I hope so. But now there are better goalkeepers.

Missed Mohebbi big time in the line up today, he is so important to our fluidity in offense. He's probably our most valuable and irreplaceable player in the squad right now. Need Azmoun and Taremi in tip top shape for their last world cup together, they were both great today. Also would be smart to find a replacement for Shoja right away. He'll be 37 years old in the world cup. I'm not up on the latest up and coming defenders in our league but I'd rather see a Pouraliganji type player play next to Kanani in the world cup.

Ghaedi wasn't great today except for being involved in the first goal, he lost too many possessions and opted for dribbling instead of making the simple pass too many times. He's fast and technical, but he won't be effective against bigger and pacier defenders in the world cup. He got bodied by Uzbeks left and right today. I don't think he is starter material in the world cup.

They have asked for 5 million for friendlies.

then we are stuck with 2nd and 3rd rated african and central american teams.

btw forget european teams, they will be busy with qualification and league next season.

I don't know, Hosseini is the best one atm, even if he is far from perfect. Beiro can still do some good things but his prime is well behind. the rest is more or less the same, some clone of niazmand. E.g I saw an highlight of the hyped Khalife, and I didn't see anything impressive, or more impressive than Niazmand.

The same with Goudarzi, I feel they are some kind of Hardani : a forever IPL player that do good things here and there, and suddently they get outmatch against better oppositions. I reckon I don't watch all IPL games, but I wasn't impressed by some ACL 2 I watched

We have so many players that looks good against IPL or crappy asian side, and become bad against decent or strong oppositions.

I’m more excited that Taremi is not injured and scored 2, than I am at our qualification tbh

This 2026 World Cup is not a serious world cup for Iran.

Its goodbye party Jafare for 12 of our players

I dont know who of Beiro or Hosseini are better, I just Think GN is going to go with Beiro regardless.

Like you, I dont Watch all IPL matches. Sometimes I see members here or other places hyping a player, and when I look at him, he isnt that speciel. To be honest, for me its not about the players that gets selected, its about the system and tactics. We have none. And that is what is gonna fukk us in the end. Not who of Beiro or Hosseini who plays. Or which defenders play. In a team with better defensive structure, Shoja would look better than he is now.

As an underdog team at the world cup, we need to have a good defensive structure. Like Morocco at the world cup 2022. We Cant win by being a dominating free flowing offensive team at the world stage. We dont got the quality for that

The problem is this: Beiranvand, Hosseini, Niazmand, Akhbari, etc are ALL going to be 32+ come world cup time. The next youngest goalkeeper after them is shitty Pourhamidi at 27. Then after that, its Khalife at 20, and Shakouri at 19. I WISH we had the options of inviting decent reserve keepers to the WC, but we don't have that privilege. We can invite older goalkeepers to help with training, who are not part of the official roster. We need to start training the next gen GK now, instead of waiting for 2 years when its World Cup qualification time and our youth GK total cap with TM is 0.

There are two schools of thought:

                            1. We accept that we are not doing anything worthwhile this world cup, and let our oldies try their best and walk off into the sunset, so we can start anew.

                            2. Start preparing the future now, and try to build strongest team possible

It is quite ironic that a country of 80-90 millions, completely mad and obsessed with football can't get more than 2-3 world class players once in a while.

lots of players who have potential to become big but end up getting benched till they are 25. Look at Rafiei, dude could be a starter for PP, has had decent performances every time. Yet they rather play Koondoz or whatever his name is
