I know Iranian coaches who work with kids in the US capable of organizing a defense better to be honest.

Standard has fallen and its only due to ghorboon sadagheh and taarof and weak mentality.

We desperately need some killer instinct in Iranian sports and everyone besides Taremi(who struggles at times) has zero ounce of it in our beloved TM now.



Here is my projected pathway for the next year on this course we are on:

1) GN fields 8-9/11 of our old guys and puts some fringe players like Alipour also. Less youth for both NK and Qatar games. He will cite "World Cup ranking" as the reason. As though that controls our destiny and not our own team like a loser.

2) Underwhelming friendlies with two good ones vs Russia and Saudi. We tie Saudi and tie/beat Russia.

3) GN asks for expedited PGL season and players to come to early camp. He asks clubs to release Azmoun/Taremi early(they refuse).

4) We travel to US/Canada/Mexico at latest possible time, least convenient but cheapest home base.

5) We have a catastrophic event like Mirzapour passing the ball straight to Mexicos team and then goal and collapse just like in 2006. Except this time its Beiranvand. Team turns on each other.

6) GN takes sides. Lose second game against Pot 1 easily 3-0. GN says look we didnt concede 6 like "Agha Keyrosh".

7) Tie last game against African team. GN complains that they were the strongest Pot 4 team. World cup over

I honestly don’t know how to feel about this news. GN is horrible and should’ve never been the coach to begin with. But this is also exactly what we did last time and it cost us in the WC. I am a huge carlos fan, and did not think Skocic made any sense as a coach… I still am shocked at the subs he made at times, he somehow got the results and got us through. However, Carlos took over and played players he was familiar with where a few of them honestly had no business starting, and he blew the US match against a super average team.

It is a big risk changing a coach this close to the WC, however it is hard to call GN a coach to begin with. We should’ve never even been in this position, but I highly doubt we will be in the WC with this level of coaching. It’s too embarrassing, our defense is absolute garbage. If you look at the opponents that have scored against us under GN it’s shocking. We just got carried into the WC with our few star attackers, coupled with weak
opponents.

You have valid points but its a bigger risk to let GN coach us in a WC, if we get rid of him now we have 1+ year to form a team under a new coach.

Uzbekistan was the best team GN faced since we beat Japan due to a last second brainfart by their CBs and he could not win even ONCE against them, UZBEKISTAN.... we are going to be the biggest punchbag in WC since Saudi Arabia in 1998 if we dont fix this asap
