Portugal and Paraguay are tough teams, dont know much about Mauretania tho.

I think so too. But if we manage to get out of this group, then we will definitely have a chance for a top 4 finish.

I think this info was wrongly put into Wikipedia.

Seems like a classic mix after quarters to the other bracket (so matching up with the C/D winners).

Paraguay have beaten Brazil two times this year. Based on Elo Ratings they are no. 9 in the world (we are 4th), but I think momentum-wise they are closer.
In the 2019 World Cup (at home) they had a good performance in a very even group with Japan, who later became 4th.
              2021 very similar.
2017 Paraguay lost against UAE, but won the group.
Only in 2024 they didn't make it.
I would compare them to Japan strength-wise - doable.

Mauritania (no 17 by Elo rating) had some good matches (and wins) against Senegal and Spain, who are both top-tier teams. I would compare them to UAE/Oman strength wise - doable.

Portugal (no 1 by Elo Rating) obviously is the strongest competitor, looking at recent results they are pretty much dominating Europe, two wins over Spain just last week.

Assuming we will go through our group, any team from group A will be doable (probably Japan/Belarus) in quarters.

Recent performances by Iran were very good imo, I see good chances to top the group. 2nd place would still put us in a decent position. I really just see Portugal and Brazil having an edge over us. Assuming that we make the group, we might meet Brazil in semis or final, I would say 3rd place upwards is not unrealistic.

Btw, I wouldn't necessarily say that C/D are easier, Spain/Senegal/Tahiti and Brazil/Italy/Oman respectively fight for the quarter spots.

A mouth-watering race is on for Group B’s two tickets to the knockout phase. Portugal conquered the competition in 2015 and 2019 and, in the Martins twins and Jordan, boast three of the planet’s best players. Iran have finished third in their last two participations at the global finals, and scored 56 goals and conceded only six en route to AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup glory on Sunday. The excellent Carlos Carballo and Paraguay are a force to be reckoned with. The Albirroja beat Brazil 5-3 in the group stage of last month’s CONMEBOL Copa America, before falling 5-4 to the same side in a thrilling final.

Debutants Mauritania have it all to do, but they recently showed they are capable of springing surprises. At their first CAF Beach Soccer AFCON, indeed, Wedou’s brilliance inspired the Lions of Chinguetti to a series of upsets and second place.

                            Several rankings exist:
                            - The one the pots were created with is based on recent WC performance (until 2015, with increasing weight for more recent WCs)
                            - The one diz posted seems to be the one by the Beach Soccer association, which uses mostly tournament performance rather than (all) recent matches.
                            - Finally: the Elo Rating (https://roon-ba.com/beachsoccer/men/rankingworld.html) which I actually like most, it is also used in Chess.

                            @oracle:
1st A vs 2nd B and other way round for quarters, but then we will mix with the C/D bracket for the semis, based on the FIFA information.
