    ^^fcuk a 20 year project that has not been finished yet!!! DOWN WITH IRI!!!

    this will not be completely finished even with the new government in the next 4 years!! based on this report and the pictures from farsnews there is still a good 1-2 years left for the project to be completed if everything goes as plan with no one stealing the money. the outside of the stadium is still not complete, hallways, locker rooms, vip room, press room, etc

    Mark my word!!
    IRI = FAILED

            That's exactly what I was going to say. How old is this site!!
            He who joyfully marches in rank and file has already earned my contempt, for he has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would suffice. Albert Einstein

            Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted, the indifference of those who should have known better, and the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most that has made it possible for evil to triumph.

                    There is a thread on SSC that follows the progress (more like regression) of Iranian stadium.

                      How many years has it been?
                      If Brazil contracted Iranians to prepare their stadiums, they would be holding the World Cup in 2064, by which time it would crumble on the spectators!!
                      I can't bare to watch the mismanagement in building infrastructure in Iran!

                          According to Wikipedia:
                          Colosseum
                          "The Colosseum or Coliseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre is an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy. Built of concrete and stone, it was the largest amphitheatre of the Roman Empire, and is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering. It is the largest amphitheatre in the world.The Colosseum could hold, it is estimated, between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators...."

                          that means, nearly 2000 years ago the Roman built the greatest structure on its time in 10 years, then made modifications to it in a period of 15 years. It held 50-80,000 people and still standing!!
                          I think that is very sad fact to know!

                            It is not even a football stadium. It is one of those that can be sued for track and Field, mostly.

                              The story of this stadium (much like many other projects in Iran) reminds of the hilarious interview with Firooz Karimi.
