I dunno bout this guy because I haven't seen him play. But I have faith in CQ as he hasn't done us wrong so far!
I haven't made up my mind about him, he plays in the J-league and should be tested if our coach believes so, that is all I'm saying, I'm not talking about him humiliating all of our midfielders like some are..

His name is James Mazandarani and he is well known in this town for once scoring a hat trick in a pick up game against the select team from the near Junior High School.

My favourite bit about that is "(and vegetarian)"
    Thanks for the good laugh!

this guy would put Jabbari,Mosalman etc in the shadows.
oh yes ofcourse solely because he is half japanese he is a better decision maker. We saw how omid nazari was amazing aswell. I dont think he is a bad player he would certainly add to the depth and competition of the team however there is no way he should be even considered for starting 3 months before the world cup

But i agree i domt think this aria guy is better than the midfielders we already have or can have like sadeghian, rahmani, and mosalman. He plays in a mid table japanese team and the japanese league is not at the level it has been in the past. Queiroz is pushing this dual nationality thing a bit too far
His team finished second place this season. J-League is a good league and nowadays they export more players to Europe than ever. Kagawa was bought by Dortmund when he was playing in the second division. Hulk, Brazil's current starter was trained in Japan before moving to Europe.

Anyways, Aria Hasegawa had better accept CQ's offer. I think Japan's midfield is too competitive for him. He has to fight with Kagawa (United), Honda (Milan) and Okazaki who has scored 7 goals so far this season in Bundesliga. Hosogai and Kiyotake are starters in Bundesliga but they are benchwarmers in the Japan side.

Look at the players in the picture. They're all part of the 23-man list that was called up to that camp. You can easily see players like Kawashima, Honda, Kagawa, Nagatomo, and Miyaichi (amongst others). I think it's fair to say that it was their A-team and not just a camp consisting of domestic players.

I would try Aria in a TM camp. I think he is better than Nazari and could help us in midfield.

Mustafa Amini is on the brink of breaking into the Borrusia Dortmund first team. His nationality is australian but his mother in Nicaraguan and Father is Afghan/Persian. My theory is he's defiantly more Afghan than anything which is a country that don't have the greatest relationship with us as most of the Afghans in Australia hate Persians for their behaviour towards them While they were living in Iran. Under fifa rules, Amini is eligible to represent Iran as his father is half persian but whether that is official remains to be known. It's definitely a long shot, but its worth a mention.

I think u dont know people in Iran. They would get really angry if an player with afghan roots would play in National team!
Iranian hate afghans and afghans hate iranian! Thats a rule. So he will never play for TM.

I've watched some of Aria's games in the past 2 years, ever since he was mentioned on these boards. I particularly watched the ACL games he was involved in. I agree with the comments here. He's big, he seems to have a good vision, but not the most technically gifted player. He also has a nice Nekounam-like knack for scoring nice long shots.

I also agree with those saying that we shouldn't jump the gun on declaring him miles ahead of the likes of Jabbari and Nouri. After that weak-ass play by Haddadifar against Lebanon, I don't think he should play professional football anymore, let alone on Team Melli. He used to be good, but his glass bones really affected his career sadly.

But back to Aria, he is a decent player. Again, I'd say that he might be able to aid TM with hustle and some good vision, which may catch some players off-guard in the world cup, but he might be most useful off of the bench. I'd say that our current starting 4 up front is pretty sinister with Dejagah, Shojaei, Gucci, and Jahanbakhsh, but what I love even more are the options we can have up front off of the bench at the world cup: Jabbari, Hasegawa, Azmoun, Khalatbari, Ansarifard...

It gives me the chills. I've never seen a forward line this FREAKING deep in Iranian Football history. We could invite all of these players, and see who plays well against different opponents. Maybe Hasegawa could do well against taller, stronger teams than shorter players like Jabbari or Khalatbari, so he may demand a start in our Bosnia match, and maybe he's outclassed by speedier players like we'd find on Nigeria and Argentina and will be on the bench for those games. We do not know yet. He's not a star player like Dejagah, and I definitely don't think CQ will treat him as such. He will likely get a start instead of Jahanbakhsh or Shojaei in the upcoming friendly if he accepts a call-up, but if he isn't clearly better than Jabbari, Nouri and others, I highly doubt he'll be a regular starter. Can't hurt to have him as an option either way, but hopefully he clicks amazingly with Dejagah and the others and can be a great player. I don't think anyone would not want that. Anyone who can help TM should be welcomed as long as they have Iranian blood, and his father is Iranian, so he should be accepted.
