case in point, last round of IPL games had more tie games than any other time!! that should tell you something about the quality of the teams
Everyone was saying the same thing and then Jahanbakhsh moved to NEC ... we don't have a lack of talent, we just don't use it.

What is interesting is that he has before already been called up to the japanese national team, but didn't play any games.
It says he is a midfielder, does anyone know where exactly in the midfield he plays?

Looks like we are becoming a back up plan to players that werent good enough to play for their home country's national team

Aside from the obvious issues with our league, another problem is identifying the real talents of the league. Many times we hype up players for them to be no more than 1 or 2 season wonders. Just look at Foolad - during the October camp they were 4-5 points clear at the top of the table and people were complaining why none of their were invited to TM. Fast forward 6-7 weeks and Foolad is now fifth in the league. Although they're only 1 point behind the leaders, the sheer fact that we have 5 teams vying for the top spot doesn't necessarily mean our league is competitive or that those teams are dominant.

If you look at Serie A or La Liga, you can clearly see the likes of Napoli, Juventus, Real, Barca, Athletico, and AS Roma distinguish themselves from others. In the case of our league, regardless of how much talent is in a squad, performances can vary from downright terrible to great. That's the only component of the AFC Champion's League - it's much more representative of how well how our players can actually perform. Daei, with his amateur tactics managed to win 2 Hazfi Cups and finish 4th in the league twice during his first tenure. In contrast, both he and Persepolis were outclassed in the ACL those years.

Around 2011, Ansarifard and Arash Afshin were supposed to lead the new wave of Iranian players. Look at them now. That's why I refuse to fall into the whole Sadeghian/Mosalman/Rahmani hype. If these youngsters want to distinguish themselves, they MUST go to Europe if the chance arises.

Hasegawa, like Beitashour, was recently invited to the Japanese National Team but not capped. This is already an achievement considering that the majority of the Japanese team is made up of legionnaires. Hasegawa's call-up is a sign that he is among the stand-out players of the J-League. If he can impress Zacheroni to the point where he can get a call-up, then capping him is a necessity for the potential depth which he can add to our midfield.

If so we would have a nasty squad.

Didn't this guy Hasegawa say that he didn't want to play for Iran a couple of years ago? I'm pretty sure I read that article on this site

We are the home country of these players as they have Iranian blood. Also marg bar man boobs.

I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

He got called up when the whole team was home based players. its not like he's at the level of their A team which is almost entirely european based players

^idk where you got that from in their latest squad 10 of their players play in the japanese league. But i agree i domt think this aria guy is better than the midfielders we already have or can have like sadeghian, rahmani, and mosalman. He plays in a mid table japanese team and the japanese league is not at the level it has been in the past. Queiroz is pushing this dual nationality thing a bit too far

Japanese player are way more smart than your iranians, if you dont believe me, just look at them play...
this guy would put Jabbari,Mosalman etc in the shadows.

I've seen hasegawa play a few times and the things that stood out to me the most are

                          - his head for the game.....a GREAT decision maker. He doesn't give the ball away cheaply like nouri, Jabbari, haddadofar.
                          - his skill set for someone his size. Not many guys over 6 feet are creative as he is and as versatile, he can play as a CM, CAM, or CDM.
                          - his pace. He runs the full 90 minutes non stop, he's very much like Ando in that sense and would
                          Give us another energy boost.

                          * K Nader closed the case right there by bringing up and ansarifard and afshin, if we have so much talent in the IPL then we wouldn't have our last 2 "talents" be as invisible as they have been the last couple of years. Maybe not so much for ansarifard as he has been playing pretty well for tractor, but still far from his full potential. Hasegawa is an absolute must in TM if he accepts.

I agree that he should definately be tested, but what pisses me off is that so many people here make such baseless claims, saying that he (not only he but others as well) is better than most of our midfielders etc.
He might be, but most people here probably haven't seen him play and just say so because he plays outside of Iran, and judging him from a few youtube videos...
So many members here seem to talk about positivity and belief in our team but yet seem to have more belief in a 45 year old striker playing in the 5th division of Canada than somone playing in our domestic league.

Except you haven't seen him play either and it sounds like you might have already made your mind up about him... ; )

I dunno bout this guy because I haven't seen him play. But I have faith in CQ as he hasn't done us wrong so far!

I haven't made up my mind about him, he plays in the J-league and should be tested if our coach believes so, that is all I'm saying, I'm not talking about him humiliating all of our midfielders like some are..
