And yes we did brake down after Pooladi was sent off. We conceded 3 goals against Iraq while the bus was still parked. If you have an explanation for that as well, I would like to hear it.

I'm not judging his squad, i'm judging him and what he tried to do to TM and everything that surrounded his appointment. Everything that is wrong with our football was all happening at once. Dalali, mafia-bazi, IR interference, etc...

You have to know the whole picture to get what was happening. Through mafia-bazi and political interference in IFF affairs, he was appointed TM manager. Essentially the same people who were criticizing CQ and the notion of "foreign" managers were doing the same then. AN's administration interfered, fired Dadkan illegally and appointed GN. We got suspended by FIFA for a few months until the IR promised not to do it again.

In comes GN. He did a bunch of interviews criticizing everyone and everything. His first few TM lists were stacked with players that had no business being in TM, but were part of the GN loyal mafia. These were the players like Enayati, Fekri, Akbarpour, AmirAbadi, Kazemi, etc... who felt like they should've gone to the WC instead of players like Hashemian, Zandi, etc...

The press nicknamed TM, "Esteghlal". Eventually everyone started criticizing GN, literally everyone, even Esteghlalis.

The sh!t really hit the fan in an ACQ match if I remember correctly. GN's captain, the 36 year old sweeper (let's ignore the fact that no one used a sweeper then), made a huge blunder in a match and claimed to lose the ball in the lights of the stadium. The ball was in the air, and Fekri just stood there like an idiot staring at the sky. After that people seemed to have had enough.

GN may be a thug, but he's not a boss. My guess is they told him to change things or he will be fired. I have no other explanation for why he all of a sudden dropped all his loyal players and his captain.

I love how he throws that around anytime he is in hot water.

As if being from Naziabad gives you points for anything.

Soon we'll see a picture of him sleeping like this the next time he gets in trouble:

Iran didn't advance against pretty much the B team of Korea when iran had one of their best squads ever, clearly big responsibility on the coach. Iran didn't advance against Iraq because of an incompetent referee's decision. No matter how much you dislike Queiroz, you cannot deny the fact that Iran would have easily won if it weren't for Al-Williams. So the responsibility is a lot less on the coach.
Even with 10 men, how can Iran concede 3 goals to Iraq? We had managed to beat Korea Republic with 10 men back in 2013.

And why do you believe Iran had a much better squad in 2007?

Wrong, we beat Korea in 2012 with ten men. In 2013, we beat them with eleven men.

In the 2012 wcq match Iran parked the bus against Korea, Shojaei got sent off, the Koreans couldn't finish and we got lucky with a Nekounam goal. That game happened 3 years ago. It's irrelevant.
In the asian cup QFs TM played a more "attacking" game, which left the defence vulnerable, its also notable that the referee clearly had something personal against the team, probably in direct response to CQ's critisism after the game with Bahrain. That wasn't very smart on his part, he should have kept his mouth shut till the end of the tournament.

you clearly didnt watch the game then because the korea game was one of the only games that qyeiroz didnt play defensively and in no way was that win luck. Also maybe afc shouldnt have appointed a ref that had already reffed an iran game badly...

My honest feeling is if CQ was that good, somebody else would have hired him before IR. People come to Iran to get a job as a LAST resort. Let's be honest, who wants to live/work under a backwards, repressive theocratic regime?!

In all fairness that game we played quite offensively and created more scoring chances. When a team is one man down almost for a whole half, yet plays offensive football, and finally scores, it tells you how bad it wants to win the game
