I personally can read that text, but it will take me a while to do so, therefor I'm too lazy to do it, but I'm studying farsi in school and trying to improve in both speaking and writing, like you stated I don't need to learn to write farsi, or even speak it for that matter, but I want to, it's a part of my Iranian heritage.

I can read the text too but too slow so I get bored after few lines lol. Personally Im 19 my mother is french so Im fluent in French, English, Spanish, Farsi. Still I can read and write Farsi kind of, because my father wanted me to. I think it's important to learn your mother language, including at least reading, even if you know 100 other languages... But thats only my opinion.

If you can read Persian, you should practice a little bit each day, and you will get better. The less you read, the harder it becomes.

Talking about learning to read Farsi. Does anyone have recommendations on maybe a book or website that they have used or think will be useful? I have never had the opportunity to be taught Farsi(reading and writing) by someone else, I would love to learn .

Don't let the shortcomings of others set the standard for yourself. If you can speak the language well, that's fantastic! However, why stop there?

I definitely agree that the writing component will have little use outside of Iran (as is natural) however, there's no harm in familiarizing yourself up to a certain level. More importantly, is the ability to learn how to read, which is essentially a passageway into our entire culture. Iranian literature is some of the finest in the world and in no way do most of the English translations of our poets, authors, philosophers, and academics do their work justice.

Saadi, Hafez, Rumi, Nezami, Khayam, and Ferdowsi are just a few of the people whose works should be read in Persian to be fully appreciated.

In other news, can't wait to see our jersey!
