Sepp Blatter finally calls Qatar WC a "mistake"
Originally posted by rugs View PostLol, why?
I don't like the Qatar choice because of the politics and bribes behind it, but I like the idea of having it somewhere different.
I wouldn't mind another Asian or African host. Or even Central American. Something more exciting than a Western Euroasian country or the US. Even Canada would be cool.
United States, because of its demographics and massive consumer basis has been one of the biggest markets to the world, for all industries.
Another World Cup in the states would certainly draw more Americans into Football and subsequently a popular sport in the States. This can only massively benefit football and its revenue.
Almost all MLS matches are often sold out, which is quite impressive for a country that until not too long ago was toys stranger to football "soccer"
Plus nowhere else in the world Iran would receive such high attendance in the stadiums cheering for them. I remember back in 2000 I believe? There was over 50,000 of us Iranians pretty much packing the rose bowl stadium cheering for Iran against US team.

When FIFA finally takes the World Cup away from qatar they should deal with the arab country's sauding by banning all Persian Gulf arab countries from any soccer for the next 10 years. Any games these arab countries have already scheduled should be regarded as an 8-0 win to their opponents. For those games in which they play each other, as the punishment above cannot be applied, FIFA should fine both countries the combined estimated money by the two opponents spent on sauding the ref and give it to charity or me.I went to Sharif University. China is a bigger market with more potential, why not there? India too.
I would just rather see a country that has never hosted it to have it. I take back Mexico as an option.
As for Iranian support, I'm pretty sure they would get more support if it stayed in Qatar or anywhere in Eurasia or North Africa.راه یکی است و آن راستی است

Sepp Blatter finally calls Qatar WC a "mistake"
Originally posted by Keano View PostRugs jaan, in all fairness we all saw the low attendance of Iranian football fans for our games during WC 2006 in Germany and 2011 Asian cup in Qatar. In Germany we were outnumbered in all our matches, including against Angola.
The Problem in Germany was that the Angola Game was meaningless after the two losses and it was in the Far East of Germany.
I had a 6 hours ride myself till I arrived in Leipzig.
The Angolan fans were mostly Portuguese and Germans.
If the game was in west Germany or Hamburg be sure the stadium would have been packed.
Also it was the 2nd tournament after the prior Euro with personalized tickets from Fifa which made it complicated for the average lazy Iranian.
The Mexico game was the living evidence how a good organized federation can handle its national team and its fans.
The Mexican fans were given a huge amount of tickets in general and they had a very well organized trip to Germany.
I used to work at McDonald's at that time and we had like a gazillion Mexican fans daily and they all were drunk but absolutely awesome and polite. One guy was drunk as F and had no money and wanted to pay his BigMac with his watch lol.
I gave him the combo menu in exchange for his uber large sombrero hat
Germany was the clear proof that we have no good working community like turks or other ethnics.
Only when it comes to fucking Iranian concerts with drug addicted outdated singers, Iranians seem to be able to get things done.
Fucking hell.
Did you know, there are more Iranian music channels than any one else?!
SMFH.
I was disappointed too.
I hope to witness something else in Sweden.
If it doesn't get cancelled.IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

Sepp Blatter Leak: 'Isis-Supporting Qatar Will Be Stripped of 2022 World Cup'
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/sepp-blatte...ld-cup-1474072
Fifa President Sepp Blatter has reportedly told football executives that Qatar will be stripped of the 2022 World Cup.
The head of football's governing body allegedly told members of the Norwegian FA that "the 2022 World Cup won't take place in Qatar" at a dinner last month.
German newspaper Der Speigel claims the Norwegian FA has neither confirmed nor denied Blatter's comments, which come after a number of Fifa members suggested moving the World Cup away from the summer months, when temperatures in Qatar reach potentially dangerous highs.

Der Spiegel's source also claimed the 78-year-old called Qatar's rulers "arrogant" and said that "they think they're allowed to do anything with their money." He also allegedly rebuked the Qatari Sheikhs for backing terror group Isis.
Controversy has raged since the showpiece tournament was awarded to Qatar in 2010, with calls being made to publish voters' ballots.I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

Countries should be in the World Cup based on their strength, not their facilities and infrastructure (and in some cases bribing).
You guys are right. I remove India as well. China would be cool.راه یکی است و آن راستی است

In a shockingly unexpected twist, the corrupt organization investigating their own corruption have found they are indeed clear of corruption! They cleared Qatar but have slammed England instead!
Even the guy who put their report together is objecting to the conclusion.
I knew there was no real intention to investigate Qatar's bid when FIFA refused to even look at the millions of emails uncovered by Daily Mail and Blatter played the racism card to dismiss the whole thing.
